What is a Varni? & why do we do a Varni?
• 27 people sit together to do Naam Simran, however the difference is that extra Maryada needs to be implied.
• Maryada means ‘code of practice’

• Sodh da shanaan- to take a shower, to ensure that you are clean.
• Amrit Shak- Amrit Shak again before the Varni.
• You are not allowed to leave the Varni until the Ardas is done and Karah Parshad is given.

During each of the Varnis, one person is responsible for keeping the sacred fire going. He would regularly sprinkle
ghee and incense over the fire, this will ensure the air around it pure.
