This Divine message has touched every heart

and today Namasankeertan has spread over

200 countries and is guiding the people of

the world to dedicate themselves to the path

of Love and Selfless Service to establish

everlasting world peace. This spiritual

awakening transcends all barriers of caste,

creed, religion and brings the people of the

world into one family as per the dictum

“वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्”

GENESIS OF 1008 BHAJANS

After offering 108 bhajans based on Sri

Sathya Sai Ashtotram on the occasion of

90th birthday of Bhagawan in 2016, a small

group of devotees, lead by the

Navi Mumbai District Bhajan Co-ordinator

Sri J Jayakumar, were contemplating to offer

a Mega Event of Bhajans, with participation

from multiple cities.

With this idea of hosting a Mega Event at Sai

Prem, what would have been better than

weaving the same around Bhagawan Sri

Sathya Sai Baba’s Sahasra Naamam (1008

names)?

13th May 1995: The Red Letter Day when

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba showered His

Love by inaugurating SAI PREM – the abode

of Love, in Vashi, Navi Mumbai

The year 2019-20 is being celebrated as the

Silver Jubilee Year of Sai Prem

ABOUT SAI PREM

To inspire the devotees and strengthen their

resolution of dedicating themselves to the

path of Love and Selfless Service, the Sri

Sathya Sai Seva Organisation Mumbai

Metropolitan Zone and Sri Sathya Sai Trust,

Maharashtra, planned and organized a unique

programme, the first of it’s kind, SAI

SAHASRANAMA HAARAM , SAI

PREMAMRUTA SAARAM, a garland of 1008

Bhajans based on the Sathya Sai Sahasra

Naamam on 12th, 13th, 19th & 20th October

2019 at Sai Prem in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, to

celebrate the Silver Jubilee Year of Sai Prem.

Over 400 singers from Navi Mumbai, Kalyan,

Thane, Wadala, Mulund, Chembur, Pune,

Whitefield Brindavan and Prashanti Nilayam,

melodiously rendered the bhajans.

The whole atmosphere at Sai Prem reflected

the Divine atmosphere at Prashanti Nilayam

and everyone at Sai Prem felt the presence of

Bhagawan.

THE PROCESS…

IT TOOK 2 YEARS TO COMPLETE THE COMPLETE PROCESS

Transliteration of all the 1008 naamams from English to

Sanskrit

Identifying a bhajan suitable to each naamam, ensuring no

duplication

Collecting audio recordings of all bhajans and arranging

them in sequence

Concept of hosting the 1008 bhajans over 2 weekends

(approx. 250 bhajans / day)

Preparing 1008 slides for 1008 bhajans, along with slides

for Suprabhatam, Vedam, Mangala Arati and Vibhuti

Mantram

Approaching various Samithies outside Navi Mumbai

Sending out formal communication to Brindavan Bhajan

Group & Prashanti Singers and all other Samithies

A detailed matrix drawn and timings allocated to all

participating singers.

Allocating Bhajans to all singers

Conducting regular Practice sessions for all the singers

About 15 to 20 titles were shortlisted for this

event and with Bhagawan’s grace, the title of

came into existence

Timing the event was important to ensure that all

Devotees could partake the Divine offering. Dates

of Oct 12, 13 and 19,20 were decided.

2 consecutive weekends were selected with 250

bhajans per day to be offered from 6 am to 10pm

Declaration Day…Sai Prem witnessed Heavenly

vibrations when devotees across India converged to

sing the Divine Glory as a part of this event….
