Research Experience
Extensive research experience in the field of Clinical Microbiology with special reference to
epidemiological studies, antimicrobial resistance in bacteria and fungi, molecular mechanism of
drug resistance, and alternative methods to combat antimicrobial resistance by exploring native
plant extracts for antimicrobial potential.
Worked with routine bacterial and fungal cultures, genomic and plasmid DNA extraction,
conventional PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, RAPD-typing etc.
Skills Working with techniques, tools, machinery and equipment
Conventional (Traditional) Microbiology techniques
Extensive experience and expertise in traditional culture/identification/sensitivity testing of
bacteria and fungi. Also have an experience in identification of parasites. I possess extensive
experience in PCR based diagnostic techniques.

BD PHOENIX 100 ( for identification and antimicrobial susceptibility of bacteria and fungi by
using bacterial and yeast panels), BD PHOENIX AP ( for inoculums preparation), BD BACTEC
FX (for blood culture), BD AFFIRM VP III (BD Microprobe Process used for detection of
Candida, Gardnerella and Trichomonas by Gen-Probe assay), SIEMEN CLINITEK Status + for
urinalysis iRICELL (complete urinalysis work cell: iChem VELOCITY & iQ 200 ELITE for
chemistry and microscopy), SQA-V Gold (MES) for semen analysis.

ADVIA Centaur XP Immunoassay (SIEMENS chemiluminescence) for diagnosis of Hepatitis
viruses (HBV, HAV, HCV) and HIV, INNOLIA (Line Immunoassay) for HIV Auto LIA
