En el varón hay poca información sobre la
presencia de macroprolactinemia asintomática
Por ello, evaluamos hombres infértiles con
aumento de PRL pero sin hipoandrogenismo ni
disfunción sexual

POBLACION Y METODOS
- 973 pacientes que consultaron por esterilidad - 32 pacientes eran hiperPRL (3.3%)
- 4 de ellos presentaron T sérica normal, sin disfunción erectiva ni trastorno de la libido.
La causa de esterilidad fue independiente de la hiper-PRL:
1) falla testicular primaria 2) infección seminal3) factor obstructivo
4) varicocele

• En el estrés, aumenta la PRL en forma paralela a CRH
• Los corticoides mantienen el metabolismo global y la supervivencia durante el estrés, pero inhibe la respuesta inmune (el mecanismo principal es la inducción de apoptosis de progenitores de Linfocitos T)
• PRL inhibe la apoptosis inducida por dexametasona
CONCLUSION: a nivel neuro-inmune, PRL y glucocorticoides antagonizan sus

1) Hay niveles elevados de PRL en pacientes con rechazo al transplante cardíaco

4) Asociación entre nivel elevado de PRL y severidad del LES
