Dito’y muling nagsasama ang

daan-daang Pilipino mula sa

Veneto na maituturing namang

magandang senyales ng pagka-

kaisa sa nasabing lugar.

Unang binisita ng karami-

han ang Museo P. Aurelio Menin

kung saan matatagpuan ang

mga koleksyon ng mga nata-

tanging bato, mga instrumen-

tong pang musika, mga imbal-

samadong hayop at maraming

pang iba na bumighani sa mga

peregrino. Sumunod naman

ang pagsasagawa ng “LIVING

ROSARY” sa natatanging har-

din ng lugar, pinangunahan ito

ng mga pari ng Veneto (Fr.

Paolino of Vicenza, Fr. Ronie of

Verona, Fr. Julius of Treviso,

Fr. Oscar of Padova). Sa tulong

din ng mga nasabing pari muling

isinagawa ang misa sa grota na

nasabing lugar, ngunit

umabot ito sa 5 oras dulot

ng problema sa trapiko.

Gayunpaman, tuloyan pa

ring naging masaya ang

paglalakbay, dahil sa mga

kwentuhan, tawanan at

awitan ng mga kabataan

habang nasa byahe.

Naisakatuparan na rin ang

matagal ng pinaplanong

paglalakbay ng kabataan ng

Parokya. Isinagawa ito sa

Pisa, Italia noong 1 Mayo

2010. Layunin ng

paglalakbayang pagbubuklod

sa mga kabataan tungo sa

isang matuwid na daan.

Pinasasalamtan ang

kooperasyon ng kanilang

mga magulang at mismong

mga kabataan sa tagumpay

ng proyektong ito.

Pinasasalamatan din ang mga

Pagdating sa Pisa,

samasamang kumain ang

mga partesipante at

naglakad patungo sa tanyag

na Torre ng Pisa. Dama

naman na nagustuhan ng

mga kabataan ang nasabing

proyekto at ngayo’y

bumubuo na muli ng plano

para sa kanilang muling

pagsasamasama.

In Easter Egg Hunting-, it's a tradi-

tional fun-play activity that is being done during this season. The young ones did enjoy because all of

them got some simple surprises prepared by the chaplaincy. It was indeed an intense day of

celebration but the assembly did not mind it because they knew that they were spiritually blessed, re-

born and recaptured by the Risen

Christ.

Why do Pinoys celebrate Flores de Mayo and Santa

Taos puso ang pasasalamat ng mga myembro ng gawain lalo na

ang coordinator of the month na si Bro. Mario Vela sa suporta ng mga kapwa nila Padovano na lubos ang

pagtulong sa matagal na ngang

pinaghahandaang okasyon.

Ang programa ay pinuno ng masasayang sayaw at kaantig-antig

na mga awitin na inihandog ng Padova Gospel Choir kay Yahweh. Dinayo ito hindi lamang ng mga

taga Padova kundi maging ng iba pang kapatiran sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Italya, kaya’t masaya ring

natunghayan ang mga awiting handog ng bawat grupo sa mga kapatid sa pananampalataya na noon ngay nag didiwang ng kanilang

anibersaryo.

Ang misa ay pinamunuan ng

ating capellano na si Fr. Oscar Cadayona, at maging ang misa ay pinuno ng mga magagandang himig

ng mga mang-aawit na pinamunuan

ni Hayde Labag. Partikular ang mga

awitin sapagkat ang ilan sa mga ito ay bunga pa ng malikhaing pag-iisip

ng ating kasamang si Ritchie Yu. Natuon din ang pansin sa pagpapalipad ng kalapati habang

inaawit ang Ama Namin, ngunit higit sa lahat nabigyang kulay ang salita ng Diyos na pinagninilayan sa

araw na yaon.

Naging paksa ang Juan 10:10 na nagsasabing: “Naparito ako upang

magkaroon kayo ng buhay na ganap

at kasiyasiya”.

Hindi rin naman malilimutan ang katangi-tanging presentasyon ng ating mga kabataan na inaasahang susunod na henerasyon

ng Padova Gospel Choir.

A Santa Krusan is a religious-

historical procession of young maidens held in many cities, towns

and even small villages throughout

the Philippines at the end of May. This commemorates the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena,

mother of Constantine the Great. The participants of this are called Sagalas with the titles of the BVM.

These two events FDM & SK now

blend together as the time goes by.

This is a festival introduced by

the Spanish Missionaries to the

Filipinos long time ago. The

word flores, from Spanish,

means flowers, and thus Flores

de Mayo means Flowers of May.

Sometimes, it is called Flores de

Maria or alay (offering). When

we say Flores de Mayo, it refers

therefore to the Flower Festival

celebrated on the month of May

in honor of the Blessed Virgin

Mary.

Why May and Flores? It’s

because in the Philippines this

month of May flowers of differ-

ent kinds start to blossom as the

rains start to pour down inter-

mittently. Filipinos make use of

these beautiful flowers as their

offering to the Blessed Virgin

Mary because this month of May

is universally dedicated to the

the Mother of God. What can

simple Filipino folks could handily

offer to the Mother of God is

that which they have in abun-

dance—flowers, which when

given, means you honor and love

the person. Many Catholic towns

celebrate this Flores de Mayo by

gathering inside the Church

before the start of the Easter Mass.

The chaplain, in his homily, pointed

out that Christ's resurrection

shows that goodness triumphs

over evil. Christ is risen and so are

we. Thus, we should also rise

with our Lord from the sins and

faults we have done. Then came

the re-affirmation of faith to re-

mind us that there is no other way

of attaining God's grace and par-

don, but making Christ center of

Christians all over the world

celebrate Easter in various ways.

For us Roman Catholics, we can't

just wait for this joyous moment

to come. Christ has returned from

death to life, bringing us new hope

and new beginning. On April 4, the

Filipino Chaplaincy of Padova cele-

brated Easter Sunday in a more

profound way. This only shows

how Filipinos are held together

with strong faith and devotion.

Highlighting the ES was the

"Salubong" wherein the Sorrowful

BVMary (Justine E.) met with Risen

Jesus (Marco Catipon)and she

became happy. Then the scene of

crowning of Mary as the Queen of

Heaven and Earth followed with

two angels (Jensine Onol & Alexa

Averion) dancing with exultation,

accompanying Mary as she enters

heaven. A simplified version of

Exultet (by Quartet) was sung

1. May 16, 2010 is set to be the

presidential elections of the

Fililpino Community of Padova at

the Patronato of San Benedetto.

The two candidates are: Espedito

“Speed” Guevarra and Luis

“Samboy” Manalo. The precint will

open at 7:00 a.m. and will close at

4:00 p.m.

2. The VIS/MIN Veneto Region will

have a gathering at Fordenone on

May 15, 2010 where they will

celebrate Mass in Cebuano.

3. The new Bishop-Elect of

Balanga Mons. Ruperto C. Santos

will preside over the Mass on the

occasion of our celebrations of

Flores De Mayo /Santa Krusan

2010.

4. The Chaplaincy/Parish Youth is

recruiting more youth in Padova to

be part of the Youth Choir. Please

The Catholic Chaplaincy of Filipino Migrants of Padova is pleased to invite you to

grace the annual Flores de Mayo/Santa Krusan to be held on the 30th of May,

2010 in the City of Padova, Italia.

Like in the past years, the Marian procession of Sagalas, Reyna Elena, the Her-

mana 2010, etc., will start at the Duomo of the Diocese of Padova where we will

listen first to the Marian Message of Archbishop Antonio Mattiazzo, the

Archbishop-Bishop of Padova and end at the Chiesa Nativita` di Maria SS., the

sede of the Filipino Chaplaincy in Padova.

The Hermana 2010 is Ms. Arneth M. Flores, the beautiful daughter of Mr. &

Mrs. Arnel Flores. She will be assisted by her cousin Leodell Avenido as the

Hermano.

Mas maganda tingnan na kahit tayo ay “ordinaryong participant” ng procession sa

araw na ito, ipalabas natin ang ating “barong tagalog”at ipakita sa ating kasuotan na

tayo ay mga Pilipino. Ang mga nagpapatakbo sa pagdiriwang ito ay may sariling uni-
