NEW DELHI-110003Inviting applications for appointment to the post of Judicial andExpert Member in the National Green Tribunal

The Government of India has enacted the National Green Tribunal (NGT) Act.7.0 I 0 (19 of 2(10) for effective and expeditious disposal of cases relating toenvironmental protection and conservation of forests and other natural resourcesincluding enforcement of any legal right relating to environment and giving relief andcompensation for damages to persons and property and for matters connected therewithor incidental thereto. As per Section 3 of the NGT Act, the Central Government hasestablished the National Green Tribunal. It is proposed to fill up the posts of Judicial andExpert Members as per the provisions of the NGT Act, 2010.

2. Applications arc invited from eligible Indian citizens for the following pests ofMembers, National Green Tribunal:-

(i) Judicial Member 5*

(ii) Expert Member 1**

3. The recruitment of a Member shall be direct recruitment on term basis and will bepurely on merit.

4. A Member, upon selection, may be posted in any ordinary place of sitting ofTribunal in India, which is normally at the Zonal level.

5. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. Theapplications shall be screened and shortlisted and the shortlisted candidates shall alone becalled to appear before the Selection Committee for interview. No reason for rejectionshall be communicated.

6. The Central Government reserves the right to withdraw advertised post(s) at anytime without assigning any reason. The Central Government also reserves the right toincrease or decrease the vacancies as well as fill or not to fill any post(s) and its decisionin this regard shall be final.

7. The cligibility and terms and conditions of the appointment of the candidates willbe governed by the provisions of the NGT Act, 2010 (19 of 2010) and Rules, madethereunder including the NGT (Manner of Appointment of Judicial and Expert Members,Salaries, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson andOther Members and Procedure for Inquiry) Rules, 2010 as amended from time to time.Thc NGT Act, 2010 and Rules made thereunder including their amendments thereof areavailable on the Ministry'S wcbsite: www.moef.nic.in

8. Eligible and interested persons may submit their applications in the prescribedformat (Annexure- I) alongwith all supporting documents (self attested) to Dr. R.K.Agrawal, Deputy Secretary, Room No. 1030(10th floor), Paryavaran Bhawan, CGOComplex, Lodi Road, New Delhi-I10003 on or before 27.8.2012. Those who areworking in the Supremc Court / High Court/ Central/ State Government/ AutonomousBodies/ PSUs/ Universities may send their application through proper channel along withphotocopies of the ACRs/ AP ARs of the last five years, as applicable. While forwardingthe application, it may be certified that no disciplinary proceedings or vigilance case iscither pending or contemplated against the applicant. The integrity of the applicant mayalso be certified by the Competent Authority. In such cases, the applicants can send their

advance copies at the above address. However, if their application is not received throughproper channel before their date of interview, their candidature shall be rejected.

9. Applications which are incomplete or not in the prescribed format or notaccompanied with the details as mentioned above shall not be entertained and would beliable to be summarily rejected by the Competent Authority.

10. No TA/DA will be allowed to the candidates to be called for interview. Thecandidates are required to make their own arrangements.
