RESORT at Nandurmadhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary
The project aims to provide an ecologically sensitive site,
responsive and fully equipped nature resort to promote
tourism. The resort design sets out to reinterpret the way
society deals with surrounding nature by taking full
advantage of the 'lake' and the' bird sanctuary'.
The resort design should be focused on creating social
spaces for visitors and staff to meet and enjoy their lives at
the sanctuary. The form of the resort should reflect the
need for social spaces to encourage the dialogue
required to become responsible people (“peoplehood”)
and uses building strategies and materials to foster respect
for nature at large.

FEATURES :
LOCATION – the site selected has a scenic view of the water body with an easy access from the road.
SHAPE – this shape creates focus towards the water body, with maximum face overlooking the water.
ROOF – green covered roof which merges down with the ground acts as camouflage for the birds, this would reduce the distraction created by the structure.
RECREATIONAL PLAZA - the resort would overlook a recreational area would could also act as view point towards the water body

STUDY OF SETTELMENT (group project)at Versova, Mumbai
•Nestled in the waters of the Arabian Sea. Originally a small fishing village of the Kolis, north of Mumbai city.•Became a part of the Portuguese empire was taken over by the Marathas in 1739. Marathas had lost this scenic coastal strip to the British •Today this suburb is a small town, which bears imprints of its joyous past and multifaceted present.•This fishing village tucked away in one corner has still retained its silence, lazy overcast afternoons and windy evenings.•Yari Road is the boiling pot of Versovawhere Hindu and Muslim cultures co-exist harmoniously

ISSUES• THESE ARE SOME OF THE MAJOR
ISSUES WE LISTED DOWN.• IF THESE ARE SOLVED THEN THE
VILLAGE WOULD BE HYGENIC, EASILY ACCESSABLE, AND ORGANISED
• PLATFORM GIVES STEPS AND A RAMP FOR THE COMMUTERS OF THE FERRY
• ALSO A PROFILE OF STEPS PROVIDED WHICH WILL BE USEFUL DURING FESTIVALS WHILE REST OF THE YEAR IT COULD ACT AS A PUBLIC SPOT.
• A CAFETERIA IS PROPOSED WHICH WOULD ADVERTISE SEAFOOD.
• TRYING TO CREATE A FELXIBLE AND PROPER PLATFORM FOR THIS MARKET.
• ALSO MULTIPLE WATER TANKS AND STORAGE ARE PROVIDED.
• THE COAST NEEDS TO BE A CELEBRATED SPACE.
• WHERE MULTIPLE ACTIVITES ARE GOING ON SAME TIME WITHOUT DISTURBING ANOTHER.
• ALSO THE SEA PROVIDES LIFE TO THE KOLIS RESIDING THERE SO WE NEEED TO MAKE THE AWARE OF ITS IMPORTANCE.
HOUSING (Low Income Group)
We are required to design a housing scheme for the industrial labour community that is dependant on the Satpur and Ambad industrial areas of Nashik as a primary source of employment. The scheme would be on a ‘Live & Work’ model, which would include, as a requirement, ‘in house’ work space, common workshop spaces and a common retail/marketplace. There would be common gathering spaces for social interactions and community projects. There would also be vocational training spaces to allow for individuals to learn new skills to supplement their monthly incomes.
The aim is to create an urban habitat that is aspirational and also incremental, safe and sensitive to social/cultural/religious and economic determinants, through a low rise, high density configuration. Housing.
For many who come seeking new work in our new urban and industrial centres, their new life is far from their familiar comfort zones. In the village environment, there is always space to meet and talk, cook and wash clothes; there is always space for children to play. Do we need to look at how these same activities take place in our cities? Sometimes, there is no relation between the way our cities have been built and the way people want to use them.

INTENSIVE DESIGN STUDIO (IDS) – COLLEGE COMPETITION
NASHIK HAAT BAZAAR To promote the local arts and crafts Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (M.T.D.C.) would like to propose a Haat Bazaar similar to haat bazaars in various cities like Delhi, Bhuj etc. It shall be conceived as a crafts village where the local craftsmen have a chance to display their creative wares on a mainstream platform, and exposure that will be equally beneficial for the urban population as well as the craftsmen. It includes series of small display spaces through which the visitors can walk and discover the different items
