Greece, it is based on a new point of view, forced open a new archaeo- logical site on the tourist trail. The fortress wall was built in the fourth century BC, and defending the Acropolis and the ancient city of Nisyros, who had been there since at least the seventh century BC. This fortress - one of the best  preserved fortications of the classical period among those that have survived until our days. The best pre- served part of the wall at the site of the settlement. Its thickness varies from 2 m to 3.65 m. The outer shell is composed of black stones trapezoidal shape of the local volcanic origin (basalt andesite), and the inner  parts are lled with rubble. The wall surrounded and protected the ancient city. On the inner side of the well -preserved staircase lead- ing to the pedestrian part of the wall (wall-walk). On the eastern side of the wall there are two ladders that reach heights of 15 and 18 steps. On its south side there are additional steps to facilitate access to appropriate towers. From most other ladders just kept grounds. Public buildings and shrines of the ancient city had to be located on the at top of the hill, and houses,  probably located on the slopes. Later, in the sixth cen- tury AD, right behind the gate was built by a large early Christian basilica, which owns the remaining columns with Corinthian capitals. The second tower of the eastern part of the wall dates from the fourth century BC and is almost square in plan with sides of 6.70 m. The walls, the maximum height of 7,50 m, built of hewn out of trapezoidal  blocks. The tower was probably composed in a differ- ent period than the surrounding wall construction and is currently in a meaningful label. This message species the minimum width of about 1.50 m, the public space around the walls, which should not be used i n any way for reasons of defensive properties of the fortress.  This is a rare writt en evidence dates back to 350- 325gg BC and is an important proof of the dates of the walls. Most of the tower was struck in the earthquake in the rst place because of the weakness of its founda - tion under the ground. It was rebuilt, but with new stones. The reconstruction included the strengthening of the foundation, as well as dismantling and moving  parts that have been moved to another place or were under threat of destruction. Currently, the tower gained its original form, the true structure and dynamism.
