    THE RELATIONSHIPBETWEEN :

    i. Cube and cuboidii. Cylinder and prism

A cuboid is a solid (3-dimensional)object with six faces that arerectangular and which meet at rightangles.

A cube is a special case of a cuboid, where all sides have the same length.

The relationship is the same as thatbetween a square and a rectangle -except that this is in 3-d instead of 2-d.

A prism is a three-dimensional figure that has

two parallel andcongruent sides that arerectangles. (These sidesare called bases.)

    A cylinder is a solid,three-dimensional

figure with twocongruent, parallelcircles as its bases.

    ii. Cylinder and prism

The process for understanding andcalculating the volume of cylinders is

identical to prism, even thoughcylinders are curved.

    EDGE 8 8 no edge 8

Similarities : There are similarities between cube, cuboid and cylinder because

the three of those shapes have same sides, faces and edges.

Differences : The cylinder is different from cube, cuboid and prism because it

has 2 sides, 2 faces and do not has edge.

    FACE 5 1

    EDGE 5 1

Similarities : both pyramid and cone have slanting sides and tapering

    shape.

Differences : both pyramid and cone do not have same side, face and edge.
