Introduction

연구 목표: 경주 양성자 가속기의 100MeV 선형 가속기의 장래 계획 중 하나인 1GeV Rapid Cycle Sychrotorn에서의 육극 자석에 대한 비선형 동력학에 대한 연구.

필요성 : 현재 일본 J-PARC 연구소는 핵물리(강입자) 실험을 위한 양성자저속 빔 인출 시스템을 이용 중이다. 펜타 쿼크의 발견과 같은 강입자 실험들은연속적으로 꾸준한 양성자 빔이 필요하다. 이에 따라 경주 양성자 가속기의장래 계획 중의 하나인1GeV RCS에서도 여러가지 실험을 위한 저속 빔인출 시스템이 필요 된다. 저속 빔 인출 시스템은 육극자석의 비선형 동력학을 이용한다. 따라서, 이번 연구에서는 RCS의 육극자석에 의한 비선형 동력학을 이용한 저속 빔 인출 시스템의 설계 및 시뮬레이션을 수행 하였다.

Effects of third -integer resonance in PEFP

Slow extraction is typically using the 2nd or 3rd order resonance.

In this study, we used 3rd integer resonance. The 3rd integer

resonance occurred by sextuples. For 3rd integer resonance, the

equations of motion can be estimated by the following Hamiltonian:

lying on a “fixed point”. Therefore Eq. (1) satisfy the condition,

Summary and further works

이번 연구에서는 육극 자석의 비선형 동력학을 이용한 1GeV RCS에서의저속 빔 인출 시스템 설계와 위상공간에서의 입자의 운동 및 빔 인출 궤도를시뮬레이션 하였으며, 이를 통해 안정적인 저속 빔 인출 시스템을 위한 파라미터를 최적화 하였다.

10월 한 달간 일본 J-PARC 연구소의 Slow extraction

machine study에 참가하여 실제적인 beam commissioning을통해 향후 보안 되어야 할 부분을 연구 및 논의하였고 앞으로도 J-PARC 연구소와의 교류를 통한 양성자 가속기의 연구를 하고자 합니다.
