Body found near ditch MOKOPANE – Police have opened a murder docket after the corpse of a man was found in an open field next to Pretorius street in the vicinity of the bridge near the industrial area. Mokopane Station commander, Col. Lucas Mogwaneng confirmed on Wednesday that evidence found on the scene suggests the man was murdered. The corpse has not been officially identified yet. MOKOPANE – Andries du Toit van Mogolstraat in Chroompark moes Dinsdag baie versigtig met sy kat veearts to jaag nadat hy die arme dier met ‘n pyl dwarsdeur die lengte van sy lyf gekry het. Die pyl kom uit ‘n kruisboog en moes die kat tussen 17h00 en 18h00 getref het.

“Ek was 16h30 vinnig by die huis, toe was my kat nog piekfyn. My buurvrou het die kat so teen 17h00 ook nog ongeskonde gesien. Maar toe ek 18h00 by die huis kom, het ek die kat in die kamer hoor krap. Ek het eers gedink hy speel met iets, maar toe ek gaan kyk sien ek daar is ‘n pyl waarvan die punt by sy boud uitsteek met die veergedeelte voor sy bors,” vertel Du Toit.

Kat met kruisboog geskiet‘n Plaaslike veearts het die pyl verwyder en teen

Woensdag het dit gelyk of die kat die skoot gaan oorleef. Du Toit het intussen die pyl na ‘n kenner geneem wat dit as ‘n kruisboogpyl identifiseer het. Du Toit, die veearts en die boogkenner het die pyl baie versigtig hanteer om seker te maak geen vingerafdrukke of enigiets wat die polisie met ‘n ondersoek kan help, word beskadig nie.

Du Toit het in samewerking met die plaaslike DBV ‘n klag van dieremishandeling by die polisie aanhandig gemaak. Die saak word glo in ‘n ernstige lig beskou omdat daar onlangs nog twee katte onder soortgelyke omstandighede in Mogolstraat doodgemaak is.

Misdaad neem toeLEPHALALE - Die polisie moes die afgelope jaar 161 sake van diefstal uit motors in die Lephalale omgewing ondersoek terwyl dit nou wil voorkom of diewe al minder skroom om vensters te breek vir wat hulle wil hê.

Volgens Andries Bester, ondervoorsitter van die Gemeenskapspolisiëringsforum, is verskeie motors in Jan Lee-straat se ruite die afgelope paar maande stukkend geslaan om by skootrekenaars, selfone en iPads uit te kom.

“Dit wil vir ons voorkom of die publieke veldtog om mense te waarsku dat die sluitmeganisme van hul motors gedeaktiveer kan word met ‘n hekafstandbeer baie goed gewerk het. Mense maak nou dubbelseker dat hulle voertuie wel gesluit is en daarom vermoed ons is “vensters uitslaan” die nuwe modus operandi. Daar is ook baie besoekers wat meen dat dit veilig is om hulle besittings in motors toe te sluit en dan word hulle teikens van opportunisitiese diewe.”

Daar is ook verlede Donderdag by die GPF vergadering gehoor dat kontakmisdaad in Lephalale die afgelope jaar skerp toegeneem het en dit wil voorkom of alkohol hier ‘n groot rol te speel het.

DA raadslid, Astrid Basson het by die vergadering gesê dat sy graag so wou sien dat kerkleiers by die GPF betrokke raak omdat baie van die kwessies moreel van aard is.

“Ek dink daar is tans baie frustasie onder mense en dat alkohol daartoe kan lei dat ons as ‘n geweldadige gemeenskap ervaar kan word. Ons het inspraak van geestelike leiers rondom hierdie sake nodig.”

Two lions kill sleeping guardHOEDSPRUIT - On July 25 at 02h45 a guard from Protrack Anti Poaching Unit who was on duty on Waterbuck farm in Thornybush Game Reserve was dragged out of a boma while he was asleep and killed by two male lions.

Wildy Machaba (22) and another guard were stationed at the boma for the night.

According to Vincent Barkas, owner of Protrack, the other guard was awakened by Wildy’s screams but when he looked up he only saw Wildy’s empty sleeping bag, his rifle and radio.

He called for help immediately, but it was too late.

Bosveldwarmte vir Andriëtte LEPHALALE - Andriëtte Norman het hierdie week ‘n bietjie in die Bosveld gekuier na haar optrede Maandagaand by Les Café des Sport in Lephalale. Sy het verskeie toeriste aantreklikhede in die omgewing besoek en sê dit was lekker om bietjie weg te kom van die Kaapse koue en reën.

Woman killed in accidentLEPHALALE - A woman was killed and three people were injured on Saturday morning around 04h00 when their vehicle lost control and hit a tree next to Walter Sisulu road in Onverwacht.

The injured were taken to Ellisras Hospital where they are said to be in a stable condition.

Speculation surrounding the cause of the accident could not be confirmed as the spokesperson for the Lephalale police, warrant officer Frans Mokoena could not be reached for comment.

MOKOPANE - Anton Fouché, die avonturuur van Lephalale wat bekendheid verwerf het vir die staptogte wat hy vir liefdadigheid aanpak sal vandag (Vrydag) in Mokopane aankom. Fouché het Maandag vanuit Polokwane begin stap en beoog om teen 17 Augustus in Lephalale te wees, ‘n totale afstand van 230km.

Sy enigste metgesel is ‘n 50kg vragmotorband wat hy agter hom aansleep. Noordelike Nuus het gereeld hierdie week met Anton gesels om te hoor hoe dit met hom gaan.

Die eerste vraag wat natuurlik by ‘n mens opkom is waarom iemand so iets sal doen? “Ek doen dit vir 67 kinders wat tans by die Bosveld Sending kinderhuis in Vaalwater versorg word. Lizette Naude en haar familie het hulle lewens gewei om vir hierdie kinders ‘n huis te gee en hulle kry geen hulp van die staat af nie.”

“Dit is my oortuiging dat God ons in Sy woord opdrag gee om na die kinders en weduwees om te sien.

Die projek word op 18 Augustus formeel afgesluit met n dinee by die Mogolklub in Lephalale. Enige besigheid of persoon wat by die veldtog betrokke wil raak of n tafel by die dinee wil bespreek kan ‘n epos stuur aan fouche.anton@

‘Wat doen jy?’ vra arbeidsman

Dít was die boodkap van Gerhard Papenfus van NEASA (National Employers Asoociation of South Africa) aan sakelui tydens Mokopane Besigheidskamer se maandelikse ledevergadering verlede Donderdag.

Papenfus het baie klem daarop gelê dat Suid-Afrikaners lief is om te kla oor wat fout is, maar dat meeste mense geneig is om te wag dat iemand anders hul probleme oplos. In baie gevalle blameer hulle eenvoudig iemand anders vir wat fout is, en laat dit dan daar.

Hy meen egter dat elke Suid-Afrikaner dit op homself moet neem om iets omtrend sy omstandighede te doen, of dit nou onregverdige arbeidswetgewing is of swak dienslewering.

“As die munisipaliteit nie die papiere en leë koeldrankblikke op jou sypaadjie optel nie, tel jý dit op. Om te sit en kla, gaan nie jou probleem oplos nie.”

Papenfus het verduidelik dat dit is hoe

die voormalige burgemeester van New York, Rudi Giuliani, die stad se probleme begin aanspreek het. Hy het die klein dingetjies reggemaak.

“As kinders verby ‘n gebou loop waarvan die halfte van die vensters stukkend is, is dit waarskynlik dat hulle die oorblywende heel vensters gaan probeer stukkend gooi. Maar as al die vensters heel is, gaan niemand sommer sonder rede klippe na daardie gebou gooi nie. Dieselfde met jou sypaadjie.”

Papenfus het sakelui en inwoners van Mokopane aangespoor om die dinge wat hulle in besighede frustreer – veral met betrekking tot arbeidsake – met kaal hande aan te pak en daarteen te baklei.

“Skryf briewe, vra vrae, dring aan op antwoorde en skakel in by drukgroepe as dit nodig is, maar as jy nie bereid is om te baklei vir ‘n beter Suid-Afrika nie, moet jy eerder jou goed pak en Perth toe trek,” het hy gesê.

Mokopane Sakekamer president, Gerrit van der Veen saam met Gerhard Papenfus en Kobus Pretorius van MGM Motors tydens Verlede Donderdag se lede vergadering.

“Hoe sou God anders oor die wêreld kan oordeel?”

Vir Paulus was die oordeelsdag ’n werklikheid. Vir die res van die Bybel is dit ook. Ongelukkig hoor ’n mens vandag al hoe meer hoedat daar verkondig word dat die idee van ’n oordeelsdag nie versoen kan word met ’n God van liefde nie.

’n God van liefde, so word gesê, sal tog nie toelaat dat mense vir ewig verlore gaan nie. Só ’n God sal onregverdig wees. Op ’n manier word almal tog maar uiteindelik gered. Deesdae sê sommige mense selfs dat dit moontlik is om ’n goeie Christen en ’n goeie Boeddhis te wees!

Die Bybel draai nie doekies om as dit by die oordeelsdag kom nie. Dit is glashelder daaroor. En dit is net so duidelik daaroor dat alleen geloof in Jesus Christus waarborg dat jy op daardie dag

Nou moet ou Dr. Verwoerd pa-staan vir die skole se handboekgemors in Limpopo. So sê ons huidige president, Jacob Zuma. Volgens berigte in die nasionale media meen hy glo dit is die nalatenskap van Apartheid wat gemaak het dat duisende handboeke wat ten duurste gedruk is teen die middel van die jaar nog nie afgelewer is nie en dat baie daarvan op ashope gegooi is.

‘n Mens kan net wonder hoe ‘n gesprek tussen dié twee leiers sou klink as hulle mekaar vandag kon ontmoet.

Ek vertrou dit het darem nie te veel konsternasie veroorsaak nie – ons almal weet darem dat die ANC hul eerste verkiesing in 1994 gewen het en dat die Springbokke toe in 1995 die wêreldbeker gewen het. nie veroordeel sal word nie, maar die ewige lewe sal ingaan. In Hand. 4:12 staan duidelik dat God net een Naam aan die mense op aarde gegee het, waardeur Hy wil dat hulle gered sal word. Hierdie Naam is Jesus Christus, die weg, en die waarheid en die lewe. Niemand kan na die Vader gaan behalwe deur Hom nie (Joh. 14:6)!

Glo jy dit nog? Daar is bekende Christene wat dit nie hardop wil bely nie. Kan jy dit nog doen? Glo jy dat mense net deur geloof in Jesus Christus in die hemel kan kom? Glo jy aan ’n oordeelsdag, waar geloof in Jesus Christus die alles bepalende faktor gaan wees, of mense die hemel of die hel sal ingaan?

Jy moet seker maak oor hierdie waarheid. Daar gaan ’n dag aanbreek wanneer ook jy voor die lewende God sal staan. Dan sal God na jou lewe kyk, want jou lewe sal die bewys wees of jy in Jesus geglo het of nie. God sal oor jou werke

oordeel, want elkeen wat in Jesus geglo het se werke sal wys dat die Gees van Christus in hulle lewe aan die werk was. Op die oordeelsdag sal net hulle wat in hierdie lewe bewus was van die grootheid van hulle sonde, en hulle toevlug geneem het tot Jesus Christus, hulle enigste Verlosser, gered word. Waar staan jy? Glo jy in Jesus en in Hom alleen?

Of vestig jy jou hoop op ’n God wat uiteindelik tog maar almal sal red? As laasgenoemde die geval by jou is, moet jy weet dat jy jou hoop op ’n ander God as die God van die Bybel vestig!
