Chairman of the Annual May Days event in WingHaven and a newly appointed Court Appointed Child Advocate for St. Charles County. Jan’s Travel and Cruise is a company that the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce is proud to have as a member and as an example of how a business should operate in a community.

Mozingo Music was honored as the 2012 Business of the Year because of the company’s dedication to O’Fallon’s arts community as well as the business district of South Highway K. Nationally, Mozingo Music has been recognized as one of the top 100 music stores in the country. For their customers, Mozingo Music provides sales, service and lessons to ensure that the purchaser is able to use their instrument to its fullest capacity. Mozingo Music is committed to the community and contributes through a variety of events throughout the calendar year and by sponsoring neighborhood bands. Owner, Jeff Mozingo performs his “Science of Sound” clinic free to any school interested in teaching kids the sounds of percussion while tying in science. Mozingo Music is a treasure in O’Fallon and a company that the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce is proud to have as a member and as an example of how a business should operate in a community.

The 2012 Large Business of the Year was awarded to Progress West Healthcare Center. In 2012 Progress

West celebrated their fi ve year anniversary, to add to the celebration, the hospital was awarded several national awards including: the Top Performer Award, as well as fi ve “5 Star” awards in the following areas: emergency department, outpatient, outpatient surgery, obstetrics inpatient services, and outpatient surgery unit/outpatient surgery. Progress West looks to make O’Fallon a healthier, safer community through several of their free programs like the Biggest Loser of St. Charles County and the Safety Stop for babies and children, just to name a couple.

“When the selection committee met, the one thing that we kept asking was, ‘is this a company that we can hold up and say to our other members, this is what a good business does?’, I feel that each of the award winners are exactly that, businesses that our members can look to emulate,” Williams said.

The O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize the St. Charles County Ambulance District as the 2012 Community Servant of the Year. The St. Charles County Ambulance District has continued to provide pre-hospital care for the residents of St. Charles County since 1975, responding to over 32,000 calls in 2011. Welcome to 2013! Here at the Chamber I assure you that we are working towards another gangbuster year! First, I’d like

to thank our outgoing Chairman of the Board, Cindy Elking. Cindy put in countless hours making sure that in a busy year, every decision made was in the best interest of our organization, all while running her successful catering company, Quintessential Catering. Under Cindy’s leadership, the Chamber increased participation by 30%, hosted over 200 functions, bought, built and moved into a new permanent home. Thank you Cindy for your dedication; you leave me with big shoes to fi ll.

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those of you whom I haven’t had the pleasure to meet yet. I have served on the Board of Directors for the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce for 3 years now, and I am honored to be the 2013 Chairman of the Board. I have been with PNC Bank for seven years, at the Harvester branch, Mexico Road Loop, and now the Cottleville branch. As a St Charles County Resident I am an Alumni of Vision Leadership (2010), Lindenwood University, and U-MO-Columbia. I live in

WingHaven with my wife, Charissa, daughter Kinley, dog Kali, and just to drive me crazy, my wife has a cat, Shadow.

This year the O’Fallon Chamber will be working on a couple of goals. One is to increase our participation again this year! We want to see all of you at least one time per quarter. To make that goal easier to obtain we have increased our Morning Schmooze networking breakfasts to monthly; which gives our members an opportunity to meet and network morning, noon, and in the evening every month of the year. We have something to fi t YOUR schedule!

Next we will be looking at some alternative funding sources. Our Chamber has not raised its membership investment rates since 2004 because of the success of our fundraising events. However, with that being said, if there is a way to fund our organization while staff spends time on benefi ts and services to members rather than events, we have a win-win situation.

I hope that you will make it a part of your New Year’s Resolution to become an active member of this awesome organization. I look forward to seeing you at the January 22nd general membership meeting and serving you throughout 2013.

Adam Hopper2013 Chairman of the Board

Center and EMS Outreach through a charity poker tournament. In 2012 the St. Charles County Ambulance District hosted 23 ICE cream socials in an effort to educate older adults about the in case of emergency program for cell phone users; providing one-on-one assistance to 678 individuals. O’Fallon is fortunate to have the services of the St. Charles County Ambulance District both in the ambulance and out.

Honored as the Ambassador of the Year is Brian Richardson. As the fi rst line of contact with the membership of the O’Fallon Chamber the Ambassadors strengthen the membership and programming of the Chamber allowing members a welcoming atmosphere to build relationships and their business. Brian Richardson exemplifi es the role of an Ambassador of the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce.

The Sue Proost O’Fallon Chamber Person of the Year was awarded to Jeff Arneson of JLJ Technology. This award is named after former Chairwoman of the Board who passed away in 2010. Sue Proost was known for her leadership, dedication and volunteerism to the entire O’Fallon community, but especially the Chamber of Commerce. These are qualities that Arneson exemplifi es. Jeff and his wife Liddy are owners of JLJ Technology which serves the technology needs of businesses in O’Fallon and St. Charles County area. Their exceptional knowledge and customer service have made them the IT department of many small businesses in O’Fallon. Jeff is currently the 2nd Vice-Chairman of the O’Fallon Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In the community Jeff serves as the secretary of the Board of Directors for Habitat of Humanity St. Charles County.
