Blind  Friendly  Apps  for  Users  of  Apple  ProductsWith  the  ever  -‐increasing  popularity  of  Apple  products  over

the  last  several  years,  it  is  a  given  that  an  increasing  number

of  individuals  who  are  blind  or  visually  impaired  will  be  using

these  devices.    Apple  has

made  great  strides  in  making

their  technology  accessible

to  those  of  us  with  low  or  no

vision.

If  you  are  a  user  of  Apple

products,  you  will  want  to

check  out  AppleVis.com,  a

community-‐powered  website

for  blind  and  visually  impaired

users  of  Apple’s  range  of  Mac

computers,  iPhones,  iPads

and  the  iPod  Touch.    AppleVis

serves  as  a  rich  resource

Users  can  register  on  the  site  to  download  the  live  chat  app,

forums  and  blogs  as  a  means  to  network  with  others  on  the

latest  app  developments.    The  site  features  podcasts  along

Another  great  feature  is  that

the  site  directs  you  to  the

latest  deals  on  the  market  and

accessibility  reviews  of  these

apps.

Visitors  will  be  pleasantly

surprised  at  the  number  of

apps  available  to  Apple  users.

From  apps  that  allow  you  to

magnify  your  screen,  voice

over  controls,  and  apps  that

can  improve  your  typing  skills.

It’s  amazing  how  accessible

a  smart  phone  can  be  for

paper  money  and  colors!    If  you  are  visually  impaired  and  own

an  Apple  device  or  are  looking  to  purchasing  one,  click  over  to

you  to  fully  access  your  Apple  product.
