ในปัจจุบัน โลกอินเทอร์เน็ตมีเนื้อหาทั้งที่เป็นบวกและเป็นลบต่อองค์กร โดยองค์กรควรมีหน้าที่ในการเข้าไปจัดการเนื้อหาเหล่านั้นมิให้ทำอันตรายต่อขื่อเสียงขององค์กรได้ หรือนำเอาข้อคิดเห็นจากชุมชนออนไลน์เข้ามาเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการวางแผนการจัดการภาพลักษณ์องค์กร ดังนั้นการจัดการเนื้อหาออนไลน์ จึงต้องประกอบด้วยการเฝ้าระวัง และการโต้ตอบอย่างเหมาะสม ซึ่งเป็นกระบวนการหนึ่งในการจัดการภาวะวิกฤต ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่ภาพลักษณ์องค์กรที่น่าพึงพอใจอย่างยั่งยืนต่อไป หลักสำคัญที่ควรปฏิบัติคือการเข้าไปมีส่วนร่วมกับชุมชนออนไลน์ด้วยการรับฟัง ใส่ใจในความรุ้สึกนึกคิดของสมาชิก และให้การสนับสนุนให้เกิดการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลที่มีคุณภาพTRANSCRIPT
