Do you need to talk to someone? We all do from time to time. Whether it is a friendly ear or a professional, talking about our feelings every now and then is cru-cial to healthy living, especially after a deployment. A re-deployment is both exciting and frightening at the same time. You may have come out emotionally unscathed after the last re-deployment and have the same expectations for the next re-deployment. How-ever, that is not always the case. Every deployment is dierent.

As a Military Spouse, I know my husband and I both have changed with all three deployments that we have experienced. It is dicult living apart for a year, especially since I will never understand what my Sol-dier went through and he will never understand what I went through. That is why with each re-deployment we go and talk to someone to help move our commu-nication from deployment-mode into living-in-the-same-house mode. The Military Family Life Consul-tant group is a perfect place for a couple, individual and even kids to have a place to talk to someone.

Military Family Life Consultants (MFLC) is here for all reasons. No problem is too big or too small. MFLCs

are even available just to chat. MFLCs want to help Military Families no matter what is going on in their lives. MFLC is designed to provide free support and will meet with you just about anywhere that is con-venient for you. The meetings are condential, free and no records are kept, taking away the stigma of therapy and counseling.

MFLCs are dedicated professionals serving today’s Military. One consultant left his practice because his father was a World War II vet and felt this was his way to pay it forward since he couldn’t join the Military. All counselors are rotated out every 45 days to help maintain anonymity.

MFLC can help with adjustment and transition, stress, marital or couples counseling, anxiety or sadness, communication, grief or loss and much more. Has your son or daughter been acting up since your Sol-dier left or even since they returned, and you don’t understand why? This could be more than just acting out. It may be a side eect of the deployment. Is your Soldier anxious or angry since getting back and you don’t understand why? MFLC is here to help you with all those concerns. To set up a completely conden-tial meeting with MFLC, please call a Military Family Life Consultant at (502) 624-3278.
