Accoun3ng Audit in two months. – Previously, no ERP or any IT system was implemented. – The Client wants a quick implementa3on that could organize all the past

(MicrosoU Navision) could not meet the management needs. The company has many subsidiaries and it encounters the biggest challenge of switching the ERP system to the brand new and modern OpenERP.

came out with a smooth and low risk methodology. The project started with the rela3vely new subsidiary as the first ERP system. It became a trial and model for the other subsidiaries. AUer the successful launch for the first subsidiary, we adopted the same method and base system to gradually replace the legacy systems in the other companies.

• The Result – Compared to the legacy system (MicrosoU Navision) that Tecway was using
for years, our solu3on (formerly OpenERP) is more completed, integrated and easier to deploy. The overall cost and risk were maintained in a very low level. The management was glad and kept replacing the systems in the subsidiaries while adding more func3ons to the already deployed systems thanks to the flexibility of our system.

Case Study – Retail Chain + POS • The Company
– Acme Inc (this name is made up due to confiden3ality) sells mobile phones and accessories over more than 80 retail branches all over the South East Asia. The management of the company is based in Hong Kong though. The daily POS orders could reach 5,000. The company also has some minor wholesale and trading business along with the retail business.
• The Challenge – The company was running OpenBravo for half a year and the management
decides to drop it due to the performance issues as well as the other enterprise processes could not be easily achieved by OpenBravo. The huge data input every day becomes one of the bopleneck that Acme Inc needs to conquer. There is another high demanding requirement is the offline capability of the system as the 3G network that each branches are using is very unstable and some3mes could be out for days. The system also needs to be very user-‐friendly and easy to operate by the branch staff by using Barcode Reader. Moreover, since the management is located overseas, a very strict cash control management needs to be implemented to guarantee the profit of the company is well managed.

• The Result – The POS front end was deployed less than two months aUer the start of the project. The
front end is now accessed from all the branches and it meets all the requirement of the customer’s expecta3on on a good point of sales terminal. There is only one netbook, one standard barcode reader, one dot-‐matrix machine and one 3G mobile card are needed for each of its branch to do all its work everyday. The back office is also very happy with the more accurate stock level and the cash control process. Moreover, the management can monitor the en3re opera3ons real-‐3me from 1000 km away!
