A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE" by Bud Ozar !
Jesus’ question in today’s Gospel is still valid today: “What are you looking for ?” What do you want from your spouse, children or parents ? Families are populated with imperfect people. To expect perfection is unreal. To expect and accept imperfection is wisdom.!

As Dignitatis Humanae, which was adopted by the Second Vatican Council in 1965 states, religious freedom means that not only individuals, but also families, communities, and institutions enjoy the space to live out religious convictions. As parents have a fundamental right to teach their children
their faith, companies should also have the right to contrib-ute to the common good by expressing their religious practic-es. Ultimately, religious freedom belongs to groups as well as individuals. Let us pray that legislators who work to replace the federal health care mandate will read and be inspired by Dignitatis Humanae.!

We have made many mone-tary contributions to the Parish from our profits, made from these events such as St Patrick’s Day Celebrations, The An-nual Picnic, Columbus Day Celebration and various parties as needed to enhance this very special Parish. We are looking forward to getting some new mem-bers on this committee and starting 2018 off to a rousing start in early March All are welcome at this meeting. RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults! The process by which adults come into full communion with the Catholic Church is known as “ RCIA”, which is short for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.! If you feel God call-ing you to this conversion of heart, please join us on this jour-ney to a closer relationship with God and His Church.! For more information please contact:!! !Deacon Stephen Yatcko, email: [email protected]!!or!! Donna Yatcko, email: [email protected]!
The Parish family warmly thanks Eileen Moriarty for memorializing a Marian Ciborium, “In Loving Memory of Francis J. Moriarty.” This Ciborium
was designed by Adrian Hammers Church Interiors in New York. Since 1887 the Hamers name has been synonymous with expert silversmithing throughout the world in the field of Liturgical Art. May the Lord bless Eileen for her gener-osity and devotion to our parish.!!
The following is a listing of memorial opportunities still availa-ble .! !
Bellows Burse Censer Ciborium!
Chasuble! Deacon Stole! Micah Stole!Stacking Ciborium (3)!
!
The censer is a metal vessel with a perforated cover and sus-pended by chains, in which incense is burned. A Ciborium is the container for hosts distributed in Communion. The!traditional!chalice veil and burse!are used at principal litur-gies. The burse is the carrying case for the corporal cloth that col-lects any fragments of the consecrated host. The veil reminds us of the tent in the desert that protected the Ark of the Covenant. ! A purple stole (“Micah Stole”) is typically worn by the priest while hearing Confessions, because it is a time of penance and reconciliation. The chasuble is the outermost liturgical vestment worn by the priest while celebrating the Mass, and decorated in the fitting liturgical color, it is a poncholike garment that repre-sents the priest's connection to our Lord's yoke of unselfish ser-vice. Please call the Parish Office for more information.
FAITH FORMATION CONTINUES…!!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Adult Faith Formation offerings this past fall. We have many exciting op-portunities planned for 2018! Please continue to check the weekly bulletin and the website for more information over the coming months as programs are scheduled. We invite and encourage everyone to join us as we, as a parish family, con-tinue to grow in our faith together.!!

Warren!
A Very Special Thank You…To the Marian Guild for the generous donation made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church to have the refrigerator in the Church Hall fixed. This was a necessary, but costly repair that they were kind enough to cover with a donation to the Church. We our grateful to the members of the Marian Guild for their devo-tion and commitment to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.!
Dear Friends, !We are so very grateful for the abundant gifts from your Angel Tree, donated to Mary & Joseph’s Place located on Village Street in North Haven. Your generosity will help us to contin-ue to provide support to mother and child in their time of need. Please know that we are so grateful to you for supporting Mary & Joseph’s Place.! ! Sincerely, The Staff!
Dr. King reminded us that our obligations to one another "concern inner attitudes, genu-ine persontoperson relations, and expres-sions of compassion which law books can-not regulate and jails cannot rectify. Such
obligations are met by one's commitment to an inner law, writ-ten on the heart. Manmade laws assure justice, but a higher law produces love." On this national holiday, may we think prayer-fully about the life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. King who directed his work toward both the structural and personal causes of racism. As he urged the nation from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, "no, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satis-fied until 'justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream'" (Amos 5:24).! ~ Cardinal Daniel DeNardo!! ! ! !
