Central Processing Unit (CPU) The “brain” of the computer Accepts and executes instructions. Control various devices in the computer system.

3 basic units in CPU

Control Unit– Control all operations.

Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU)– Addition, subtraction, decision-making….

Register– Hold temporary data.
