• What is the experience of your company in promoting R&D in
business?
- we classified R&D into 3 level which are basic research, applied research and
new product development
- We organized R&D innovation day yearly in order to share experience among
R&D team, production and marketing
• What are the key obstacles to R&D in agro-business, and to
international collaboration in this area?
1. Tropically researcher do not understand business
2. Process to register patent in Thailand consume long time.
3. Lack of fund for research in agro-business.
4. Non-tariff barrier also can be obstacles.
• Which sectors of ago-business have potential for Thai – European
R&D collaboration?
- Vegetable and fruit could be a potential for collaboration
- By collaboration we could grow many type of herb that good for health industrially.
Plantation in new era could be very safe and secure through computerize system.
• Which factors / Public policy measure / international
collaboration should be encouraged for promoting
innovation in agro-business?
- International collaboration could be a key factor
- innovation must start from customer.
- right innovation for right market
- Knowledge sharing through standard for example Global GAP, IUU standards,
CODEX food standards and OIE Standards.
• What should Thai Public and private sector
learn from the European experience?
1. How to win in global market?
2. How to research for future?
3. How to promote sustainable vision across country?
