Work Experience in CFD

Skill includes fundamentals of CFD, importing CAD model assemblies, organizing various parts with appropriate naming convention as per the client requirement.

Geometry cleanup using CAE tools ( ANSA ), Stitching of meshed components to form sub-assemblies,

Modeling of HVAC and stitching to the baseline by taking care of the mesh transition.

Project 1: Aero & Thermal Modeling for full vehicle except exterior

Modeling of different sub assemblies including HP, Power train, Structure, PI as per Aero and Thermal guideline and assembling the same for building the full vehicle.

Modeling involves detailed capturing of some parts like, MOUNTS, CATALYTIC CONVERTER, CRFM SHROUD so as to study closer value of thermal properties like temperature distribution, mass flow rates etc across the critical parts of Vehicle.

Creation of Virtual surfaces at various junctions of fluid flow areas, in order to analyze various thermal properties variations at desired location.

Meshing of above mentioned sub-assemblies using ANSA, later generating tetra mesh using Tgrid which includes quality checks like leakage volume, skewness etc.

Project 2: HVAC Modeling

Project Description: Involved in setting up a full cabin model to study Passenger comfortness. Modeling includes detailed capturing of vehicle's surfaces:

Air conditioning system mainly inner side of Ac ducts, outlets and vanes,Conditioned air contact surfaces like trims, floor, plenum etc there by

forming a close cabin, generating tetra mesh for fluent using Tgrid.

Project 3: Plenum water Drainage & Pressure drop

Project Description: Plenum water drainage: Modeling and setting up Plenum drainage model which

includes entire wiper linkage, grill, windshield, hood etc to analyze how long water would take to drain out in plenum.

Pressure drop: Modeling and setting up a pressure drop model there by finding the pressure drop across the plenum.

Project 4: NVH Cavity Modeling ( other than CFD )

Project Description: Creation of Cavity: Generation tria mesh from mixed mesh of FE-

Structure and stitching of each component to create individual volume and give tetra mesh.

Creating connections between Cabin, Door Trims, C-Pillar, Trunk, IP, Console, Seats, and Parcel Shelf etc.

Identification of patches. Modal Analysis.

Roles in Projects handled: Successfully trained new engineers with the skills and managed projects

with first time correct and on time delivery.

Performing all Geometry clean up before meshing and quality checks like skewness, penetration and proximity for Tria elements using ANSA.

Involved in meshing individual parts of different sub assemblies based on aero, thermal and HVAC requirements

B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering passed out in 2008 from Orissa Engineering College, Bhubaneswar.

Final Year Project: Design and fabrication of Wind Tunnel Measurement and understanding of Lift and Pressure variation at various points on an Aerofoil for

different air velocities and angle of attack, inside Wind Tunnel.
