A project that was first proposed in April of 2011, has now been turned into reality. A perfume with the odour of freshly printed paper. ‘Paper Passion’, as the new fragrance is called, was created by Berlin based perfume artist Geza Schön for the design magazine Wallpaper. The original idea was suggested by art publisher and printer Gerhard Steidl. “It wasn't an easy thing to do,” Schön admits. “Printed paper has a dry, greasy smell and those are scents we don't usually work with in the perfume business.” In the end, the formula used was a relatively simple mixture, containing only a small number of ingredients like ethyl linoleate, a fatty acid, and various wood extracts. ‘Paper Passion’ comes in a hollowed out book, designed by Karl Lagerfeld, who claims that “nothing in the world smells better than freshly printed pages”. ‘Paper Passion’ From GN Express nr 413:
