Annual Life Teen Leadership Conference John, Friar Franck and Steven were in Scottsdale, Arizona for a few days last week. From what I heard they spent most of their time in meetings, with a break now and then “chillin” in the pool. This is the fifth year we have sent people to the conference and it is always a very productive and joyful time for our youth ministry leaders. I hope that a couple of them will write about their experiences next week in the bulletin so that you can hear all about them yourself. Shuffle off to Buffalo Fr. Raymond and I will be away next week at our Province Chapter in Buffalo. St. Paul Parish has been a Franciscan Parish for over 30 years so you know the drill. Every 4 years the friars gather in a meeting we call Chapter and set our agenda for the next four years. This year at the end of the chapter, four friars will be ordained to the priesthood and we will have a big celebration before we leave Buffalo. Nutsedge Nutsedge Thanks so much for all of the advice on the nutsedge. Hillside landscaping is going to work on the problem for us. The danger is that in treating the weeds we might also kill the daylilies. Where there is a will there's a way. Peace.

Over 750 students are enrolled in our Religious Education program. Staffed by a dedicated staff of 70+ volunteer cate-chists, it is one of the most important things we do at Saint Paul Parish. Students should complete each grade level consecutively from Grades 1-10 for ongoing faith formation and to receive the sacraments. BAPTISMS are held on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month, 1:15 PM. Register on our website. Baptism instruction is required for all first time parents and godparents on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7 PM in the Parish Center. You must pre-register.

CONFIRMATION is held each year for candidates who have completed a 2-year Confirmation Program. SPONSORS must be a Confirmed Catholic, who lives a life of faith (i.e. regular Sunday worship; if married, in a ceremony approved by the Church, and who is not the parent of the person to be baptized/confirmed.) If you are registered at St. Paul and need a sponsor certificate, contact the Parish Office.
