RECONVENED ADJOURNED ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2010.

    A Final Farewell Note

Sadly once again we had to adjourn the meeting due to lack of quorum which stayed at 40%. This

definitly caused a bit of disappointment among the attendees who were present at the meeting. The

present Executive Committee has two options which were discussed among members.

    1. To allow the present Executive Committee for year 2010 2011.

    2. To convene AGM for a third time.

Majority of the members were concerned that we have already arranged two meetings which have

financial cost allocated to them. There is no assurance that the quorum will be established in

subsequent meeting. Therefore the first option is the preferred one. It was also highlighted that we

already have nominees who are willing to continue with the hard work of present and earlier Executive

Committees. Hence the best solution is to initiate a transition process where nominees are inducted

such that the working of PAWA does not get affected in any way. This seems a plausible option

specially because only two of our members have anyway shown willingness to continue for a second

    term.

As the leader of the team that has worked tirelessly to make this year a memorable one in the history of

PAWA, I as the President of PAWA therefore am setting a new tradition of stepping down to give new

members a chance to come forward and be part of this fantastic journey. There is nothing more

honorable than representing your own country and this team has done this with pride, honesty and

integrity. I am sure the next in line will continue to do the same.

Due to limitation of the number of vacancies that can exist at one time in the EC the process will be

gradually completed and will be accomplished by 30th October Insha Allah. As of today my 30 day

period of notice and handover will start which I will try to complete in ten days time just before our holy

month of fasting begins. Once again a big thank you to all for the tremendous support and feedback.

It takes great courage to stand and fight for something... but sometimes it can take even more courage to walk awayand leave things behind!! Iftikhar Mahmood

RIWAYAT MOVIE SCREENING: An update from Mr. Iqbal Khan

The word "Thanks" seems very small; I feel I must say you "Jazzak-Allah". We together met the target

and $4065 has been raised in less than a month. It is all from Allah, but might have not happened

without the level of efforts PAWA put into the accomplishment of this cause. Many people from Indian

community showed up and helped on the top of buying their tickets. May Allah bless all with great

success. Mr. M Chatta has been the biggest donor with more than 500 dollars for this cause.

    The proposed plan is:

Architectural work for 3 rooms and veranda: by 20th Aug 2010 (mid Ramzan)

Arranging and bringing materials: by 7th Sep (last week of Ramzan)

Starting construction work: by 15th of Sep (1st week after Eid)

Application of registration as Elementary school: by 15th of Sep

Completion of construction work: by 15th of Oct

InshaAllah this enhancement will enable us to expand our Academic and vocational activities. I have

registered new domain and have hosted the website dedicated to Millat School.

http://www.millatschool.com with email address [email protected]

Please keep visiting time to time. Once again "Jazzak Allah"

This is perhaps right time to thank Dr. Sanjay Patole who provided us with this opportunity to

    screen his movie.

    CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS: UPDATE

Once again the need to review and amend constitution in a way that benefits work of the organisation and

does not disadvantage any member was highlighted. It was stressed that this matter should be taken as a

priority by the new members as the background work has now been completed.

PAWA GOES REGIONAL WITH OUR 100th MEMBER

We welcome our 100th member Iftikhar Mahmood from South Hedland. As PAWA celebrates its

18th birthday on 28th June 2010 this is first time that we had a member form regional WA. The

vision in coming years will definitely be to expand the organization such that regional members

are also represented in the organizational structure and participate actively. This also brings an

end to our quest for 100th member on the PAWA register of members. To date we have 102

members and this also has happened second time in the history of PAWA when number of paid

members has gone in three digits.

REMEMBERING SAM PIANTADOSI (Founder President of ECCWA)

Friends and representatives of ethnic organisations in WA attended the memorial service of

Hon. Sam Piantadosi on Ist August in a large number and offered their condolences to the family.

On behalf of Pakistani community Dr. Zarrin S Siddiqui and her family conveyed our

condolence. He will definitely be missed by the ethnic communities in Australia
