• Paziente non eleggibile ad autotrapianto: la definizione non deve essere limitata
all’età anagrafica (convenzionalmente ≥ 65 anni), ma tenere conto di fattori che
permettono una stratificazione più accurata del paziente «anziano»
• Geriatric assessment: criterio per definire fitness e frailty: età anagrafica,
comorbidità, valutazione dell’indipendenza nelle attività quotidiane

• La stratificazione dei pazienti di età superiore a 65 anni in tre categorie

• Paziente intermediate/frail: aumentato rischio di eventi avversi non ematologici e
di discontinuation di trattamentodi discontinuation di trattamento
• Necessaria valutazione basale relativa alla tollerabilità del trattamento, basata su
età anagrafica e geriatric assessment
• La remissione completa è un obiettivo possibile anche nel paziente anziano, ma i
benefici della risposta possono essere annullati da tossicità legate al trattamento
• Età cut-off per la definizione di paziente frail: 80 anni

sintomi, il mantenimento di uno status di indipendenza e di un’adeguata sintomi, il mantenimento di uno status di indipendenza e di un’adeguata

• Stable disease (SD) senza sintomi relativi al MM può essere un obiettivo
accettabile
