Philosophy

• Offer unique technology

• Separate majority of fluid without filters

• Quickly drain fluid to reduce evaporation

• Clean air must approach zero emissions

• Low maintenance

• Low life cycle costs

• Customer must always be 100% satisfied

Clean Air will Approach Zero Mist

Oil Mist Limits

OSHA < 5.0 mg/m³Recommended < 0.5 mg/m³NIOSH < 0.4 mg/m³(time weighted average over 8 hrs)

Most companies with H&S and unions are using limit < 0.5 mg/m³

HEPA Filters for Clean Air• With HEPA clean air can be

<0.020 mg/m³• Without HEPA most eliminators

are above 0.5 mg/m³ and don’t remove smoke, steam or bacteria

• Fine mist & bacteria is the major cause of health problems

Health Issues

Headaches

Nose Bleeds

Sionasal Cancer

Sore Throat

Lung, Skin, & Stomach Cancer

Asthma Respiratory Damage Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis

Eye Irritation

Acne Eczema Dermatitis Allergic Reactions

Body Odor

Steam vs Smoke

Steam – Cutting tool temp > 212ºFSmoke – Cutting tool temp > 300ºF

Look at chips - Blue chips – steam - Brown chips – smoke

High tramp oils in coolant increases smoke

Mist Distribution Curve

Particle

Count

• Oil smoke

Oil-mist

0.1 0.3 1 10 100 microns

Cut line for most mist eliminators

HEPA required to captured particles under 1 micron

Sizing Guidelines

• Machines with low mist generation, infrequent door opening:-Enclosure volume (ft³) x 2 to 3 = cfm

• Machines with medium mist generation, average door opening:-

Enclosure volume (ft³) x 4 to 5 = cfm•  Machines with high mist/smoke generation & frequent door

opening

Enclosure volume (ft³) x 6 to 10 = cfm• For enclosures with open areas add :- 75 – 200 cfm per ft².• Hoods :- 75 – 200 cfm/ft²• Note: the factor number used is the number of air exchanges per

minute. Example 4 :- 4 per minute or every 15 seconds.

1st stage Mechanical Separation Elements2nd stage Aggomerator Depth Filter

2nd Stage Filter Options1- Permanent media filter• 10 – 15 years • Excellent on coolant• Can add wrap for fine mist applications.• Optional On-Line-Cleaning system

No competitor comes close to the

life service of this filter.

Permanent 2nd Stage Filter

Air Flow

Drainage

Made in Layers (8)SS wire mesh weaved with fibersExcellent drainage.Difficult to blind.Durable/long life, 10 - 15 years Can be cleaned.

Fine fiber layer. Larger fibers provides channel for drainage.

2nd Stage Filter Wrap• For oil and fine mist applications• Single wrap – fine coolant or cast iron• Double wrap - oil• Will reduce air flow 100 – 200 cfm

On-Line Cleaning SystemOptional: Flushes out congealed concentrates and solids from 2nd stage filter.Flush every 1-4 months with coolant or water.Shut-off fan motor, open manual flush valve for 5-15 minutes.Coolant or water flows back to sump.

Note: on 98% of applications, filter stays clean w/o cleaning for 4 yrs or more.

3rd Stage Filter Options, ROX-400/600

One 4” filter makes compact dimensions for mounting on small machines.

Two 4” filters will provide close to HEPA quality air.

12” HEPA 95% @ 0.3 microns for the best air quality

ROX-400/600, one 4” filter

One cabinetsize.Two air flows

Compact dimensions for small machines26” x 21”(1 x 4” filter)

ROX-400 / 600one cabinet size, two air flows

ROX-800 / 1100One cabinet size, two air flows

ROX-2000

Can be ganged together to make 4000, 6000, 8000 cfm etc central systems.
