    BODYUsing MC and smaller 24 in needle, co 270 stitches.Join to work in the round, taking care not to twiststitches on the needle. Join in CC and begin workingin corrugated ribbing as follows: *k2 CC, p2 MC

    over the first 135 stitches, ending with k2CC; p1MC.* Repeat between ** once more. Continue in ribpattern for 1.5 in (4 cm). Change to larger needleand k 1 row in MC, inc 2 stitches evenly across row,and maintaining the purled seam stitch at eitherside. 272 stitches now on needle. Begin workingcolor pattern on next row. Work straight until piecemeasures 3.25 in (8.5 cm) from co edge. End withseam stitch.

    Next row, begin waist shaping as follows: k2tog,work to two stitches before next seam stitch, ssk.Repeat once more to end of round. Continue todecrease as established every 6throw 7 more times,32 stitches in all decreased. 240 stitches now onneedle. Work 9 rows straight, ending with seamstitch.

    Next row, begin bust increases as follows: inc1 innext stitch, work to one stitch before seam stitch,inc1, p1. Repeat once more to end of round.Increase four stitches as established every 6throw 7more times, 32 stitches in all increased. 272 stitchesnow on needle. Work straight until piece measuresapproximately 15 in (43 cm), or desired length tounderarm, ending 7 stitches before the end of theround and purled seam stitch. Place the next 15stitches on a holder, knit to 7 stitches before thenext seam stitch, place the next 15 stitches on aholder, work to end. 242 stitches remain. Placeremaining stitches on a separate holder and set

    piece aside.

    SLEEVESUsing smaller double point needles, co 71 stitches,distributing stitches evenly across needles andjoining to work in the round. Work in corrugated

    ribbing for 1 in (2.5 cm) as follows: p1MC, k2 CC,p2 MC, ending with k2 CC.

    Change to larger needles and k one row MC, inc 2stitches evenly across row and maintaining purled

    seam st. 73 stitches now on needle.

    Work in pattern, maintaining seam stitch in MC andinc 1 stitch on either side of it to 99 stitches. Workstraight in pattern. When piece measuresapproximately 13 in (33 cm) and you are 1 rowaway from where you ended on the body, end 7stitches before seam stitch. Place next 15 stitches onholder, work to end. 84 stitches remain. Set sleeveaside and make another to match.

    BODY JOINJoin first sleeve as follows. Using MC, co 1 stitch(seam st), pm (end of round), k across stitches offirst sleeve, co 1 stitch in MC (seam st), k acrossback, co 1 stitch in MC (seam st), knit across stitchesof second sleeve, co 1 stitch in MC (seam st), knitacross front. K one more row straight, purling theseam stitches in MC and working to the marker. 414stitches on needle.

    RAGLAN SHAPINGOn next row and three following rows: decrease 1stitch on either side of 4 seam stitches as follows: k1MC, k2tog, k to 3 stitches from seam stitch, ssk, k1MC, p1 MC, k2 tog. Repeat across body, ending with

    ssk, k1 MC, p1. 382 stitches now on needle. Workone row.

    On next and every other row, decrease 8 stitches asestablished 21 times. 214 stitches remain. K 1 rowMC, maintaining purled seam stitches, anddecreasing 1 st on center front and back. End roundwith p1.

    Change to smaller needles and work 1 row in k1 p1

    rib, ending round with round with p1. Next row,p2tog, *work in rib to two stitches from seam stitch,p2tog, p1, p2tog,* repeat between ** 2 timesmore, work in rib to two stitches from seam stitch,p2tog, p1. Work 1 row in rib, ending round withround with p1. Next row, k2tog, *work in rib to twostitches from seam stitch, ssk, p1, k2tog,* repeatbetween ** 2 times more, work in rib to twostitches from seam stitch, ssk, p1. Work 1 row in rib.Bind off all stitches.
