April Event

Having never been to graduation ceremonies except my own, I have always associated spring with new start. But in Japan, spring is also the season of letting go of things that are coming to an end. And this spring, my greatest muse and heartbreaker whom I met in my second month in Miyazaki is leaving Miyazaki indefinitely (at the moment of writing this). Even though I am looking forward to spring for cherry-blossom- or strawberry-flavored snacks, with each day passing I am becoming more and more dreadful of saying goodbye to him. Weird would fit better, actually… It feels weird that I have to say goodbye to the dearest friend in the most auspicious time of the year. It is hard to imagine what is awaiting us in upcoming months. But like cherry blossoms that bloom again and again, I hope that our relationship will soon be replenished with reunions and happy memories. And in the meantime, I will enjoy the beautiful weather and lightweight spring outfits! It’s party time~

Spring being the season of a fresh start and change. I, too, will be starting a new journey at my new workplace, as a five-year contract with the Miyazaki International Foundation is ending soon. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to those who gave me valuable advice, encouraged me when I was feeling down, listened to my boring jokes, and forgave numerous mistakes that I have made. The memories I have cherished over the past five years as well as the 5kg I gained recently will stay with me at the next workplace. I also sincerely wish you a wonderful spring! Staff: C
