AKRATHERM can be used whereverthermal insulation, brightness and easyinstallation are required.It’s cellular structure means AKRATHERMsheets may be heavily charged. On thebasis of the UV-protected high-qualitypolycarbonate AKRATHERM is an idealbuilding material with the following cha-racteristics:

HIGH TRANSPARENCY: About 80%transparency, depending on the thickness,and excellent light diffusion. Due to thespecial surface coating on the externalside the transparency remains practicallyunchanged through time. The followingcolours are available: transparent, opalineand bronze; green and blue at request.

THERMAL INSULATION: The geometri-cal structure of AKRATHERM sheets withsingle chamber, or two,-three-or four-walledcavity structure, combined with the lowheat transmission value of polycarbo-nate, ensure a particularly high thermalinsulation (up to U =1,4 W/m2 K) andtherefore the best choice for energy saving.

PRACTICALLY UNBREAKABLE: AKRA-THERM offers considerable impactstrength and a high resistance againstmechanical stress.

LIGHTNESS: AKRATHERM is particu-larly light and weighs from 0,8 kg/m2 upto 3,7 kg/m2, depending on thickness.

HIGH WEATHER RESISTANCE: AKRA-THERM is UV-protected and offersweather resistance in temperaturesranging from -40°C up to +120°C.

HARDLY FLAMMABLE: Conforming tocertificate P-ND S04-488 of the Institut

für Bautechnik in Berlin AKRATHERMsheets are hardly flammable accor-d ing to DIN 4102 B1 and BS 476Part 7 Class 1. Polycarbonate does notemi t tox ic gases.

RESISTANCE TO CHEMICAL AGENTS:Resistant against low concentrate mine-ral and organic acids, detergents, soapand salt solutions, fats and oils, aliphatichydrocarbons and alcohol. Not stabilizedagainst aromatic hydrocarbons andstrong alkali.

SHEET EXPANSION: 0,065 mm/m°K,that means 3 mm (bronze 5 mm!) per metrelength in continental European climate.

PROCESSING POSSIBILITIES: Thesheet may be cold curved, sawed andbored with common tools. It is light andconsequently easy and fast to erect.

ACCESSORIES: For the sealing of the openhollow chambers U-profiles and/or adhesivealuminium tape are used. For the jointingof the polycarbonate sheets aluminiumand polycarbonate profiles are suitable.

APPLICATIONS AND USE: AKRA-THERM cellular sheets offer constructivepossibilities in every imaginable surface.Nowadays the requirements in the fieldsof new building and clearance makemulti-wall sheets indispensable.AKRATHERM is particularly suitable forglazing and roofing of greenhouses,schools, sport sites, agricultural and indu-strial buildings, as well as vaulted andprojecting roofs, skylights, solar panels,car washing-plants, applications in thefields of leisure time and “do it yourself”.
