1. HistoryBwA is a family project from its very first day. The “hands on the vines” side of BwA is represented by the Cottini Family, from the Veneto Region, in Italy, who bring the viticulture and the vinifica-tion knowledge to ensure the highest quality and selection of our terroirs. This knowledge comes from decades of dedication to their vineyards in the region of Valpolicella, in Northern Italy. The management experience and expertise side of the business, on the other hand, comes from the Bergamaschi Family, a renowned Italian family of entrepreneurs from Milan.Hand in hand with the Cottini family, they are fulfilling the dream to share some of the world’s best wine treasures with Asia. But the company wouldn’t be complete without a “dynamic hand” working directly in the field in Asia. With 8 years of marketing and management background, João Gago worked for over three years in one of Asia’s largest wine importers, which gave him a particular insight about the Far East market. The three represented families came to discover the wine world in Asia, and China ended up conquer-ing them.

Boutique Wines Asia was born from a one-of-a-kind dream to bring Premium Boutique Wines to Asia. BwA presents an exclusive selection of wines from family-owned wineries from around the World, each one carefully chosen for being a top representative of its region and fine example of its terroir. BwA boutique families represent the company’s philosophy and vision – to share true wine treasures with Asia, through a top manage-ment model, wine quality and know-how.

The main goal is to offer the best boutique products, supported by a uniqueness factor, as well as a dynamic attitude and particular insight, focusing in the Far East markets.

Boutique Wines Asia is not just about selling wine, it’s also a way of living we showcase daily, through our selection of boutique wines and boutique lifestyles from around the World.

BwA presents a Portfolio with a multitude of Family Boutique Brands from a vast variety of wine countries, ranging from a more local his-torical and traditional viticulture to a state-of-the-art Organic or even Biodynamic winemaking processes, technically categorized as: Red Wines, White Wines, Rosé Wines, Sparkling Wines, Sweet Wines, and more specifically Port Wines and Moscatel. Since its first day, BwA felt the need to showcase unique boutique wines and unique boutique grape varieties of unquestionable quality, often less known by the market consumers.

Port wine vines need to grow in schist rich soil and require a specific micro-climate. It is produced through a unique vinification method. The red varietals are the most common. The wine is produced in the beautiful landscape of the Douro Valley in Alto Douro region, a region that is classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. There are several varieties of Port wine: Ruby, White, Tawny, Late Bottled Vintage (L.B.V.), Vintage and Colheita.Moscatel is made of the Muscat variety of grapes, that grown all around the World. In Portugal, this type of grapes origins the famous “Moscatel”, a sweet floral wine served typically with the desert, as the Port Wine.

In 2007, Sociedade Agricola de Santar, with its Casa de Santar wines, was elected Producer of the Year, by Revista de Vinhos (Portugal).

Of the vineyards surrounded by pine trees, the grapes produced in integrated production give way to wines with balanced acidity and delicate aromas of the brand Cabriz. The white and red grape varieties are vinified in a modern cellar with the support of a modern laboratory and a fully equipped tasting room.

In the heart of Douro Region, a few miles from Régua, Quinta do Vallado spreads along both banks of the Congo River, near the place where it meets the Douro. Bodegas Y Viñedos Artazu belongs to the group of Artadi wineries, and its one of the projects where Juan Carlos López de Lacalle wants to show the richness and variety of the Grenache grape. It has born in 1996 with the acquisi-tion of 10 hectares of vineyards with more than 60 years.

Since Artadi was found in 1985, the main concept has been “The value of great Wine is closely related to the soil and the people”.
