    ABSTRACT

    Im Anna Birra and I specialized in Architecture for Preserva-tion at I.U.A.V. University, in Venice, in March 2013 (110/110). In September 2013 I achieved the qualification to practice (I am re-gister with the Architect). Im a hard worker, a quick leraner, and I am eager to expand both my professional knowledge and my language skills in a new environment. I would describe me as quiet, dynamic and motivated; I adapt to any working environment and I like to work in a team. I am particularly interested in monumental resto-ration and renovation, with great attention to interiors and energy saving. I work as a planner, technical designer and project manager for both private and public clients. The following portfolio contains a selection of project at University as well as professional work. Hope you enjoy it.

    Competition reserved to under 31 Italian Architects.Auctioneer: Isabella Sergnoli - Casabella magazine. Prize: job. Project: a 80 square meters house and a 16 square meters store for the guar-dian of Villa Belpoggio Baciocchi, Bologna. The buildings are to be entegrated in the park of the ancient villa. Spending cap: 200.000 euros.

    The competition was dedicated to architects under 31, and required to plan the guar-dians house into the garden of the ancient Villa Belpoggio Baciocchi, in Bologna. I sug-gested a discreet building harmonized with nature, with private and public spaces, sur-prising finishing facades and bright interiors.

  • Ortipertutti september 2014

    Urban farming design competition.The theme is dedicated to the widespread practice of growing urban garden, connected to EXPO 2015 theme Feeding the planet. You had to plan some basic elements, that could be repeated in each area.The Municipality choose three different areas to plan: within houses, inside gardens, in the count-ryside. The following causes were to respect: sustainability, cheapness, recycling, design, accessi-bility and biodiversity.

    Architects were asked to plan some scraps of public urban gardens. We thought about basic low-cost and recycled elements and we put them together in different ways. We planned some basic wooden structures, which could be covered with straw, climbing plants or transparent panels; wooden recycling seats, walkways, fences, little houses for wild life, and plants.

    The competition concerned Piazza delle Erbe in Vicenza, which until now has been considered the backside of the Basilica, because of its bad connection to the city center and the main Piazza dei Signori. We choose a metallic guyed structure, based on a pillar that distinguish the settlement, and a suspended walkway bend that both solve con-nection problems and becomes fifth side scene for many events.

  • International competition for a Civic center in Milan septembre 2014Project porpouse: realization of the Civic center in Isola district, Milan.Collaboration with S + 3 Architetti, Vicenza.

    The theme required to draw an urban void, located close to the contemporary known skyscrapers area. We thou-ght about a landmark: its archetype form is simple but surprisingly complex and very organized in its interior spaces; its permeable and always offers a view on the green surrounding and in it, even from the roof terrace.

  • Gallerie dellAccademia, Veneziafebruary 2013Executive planning and construction work.Project porpouse: functional adaptation and exhibition of Gallerie dellAccadiemia complex of buindings. Auctioneer: Direzione regionale Veneta - Ministero dei Beni culturali.Collaboration with Vettore costruzioni restauri (Venezia), Studio Aeditecne S.S., Studio Crachi (Roma).

    The competition concerned the restoration project for the exhibition area of the Gallerie dellAccademia complex. It originated in the twelfth century, when Palladio conceived a magnificent project that was never completed, so in recent years the image given by Scarpa and the Selva was consolidated. The project is consistent with the dominant exhibition project created by Scarpa, deepening the structural aspects with multimedia and multi-sensorial devices for all kind of visitors.

    Castle ugento is located in privi-leged location . The competition awards execution and executive planning of the restoration , reco-very and re-use of the Castle indo-or and outdoor spaces. Grate care has been taken in the propose ar-rengement of the access path and the exterior lighting project.

    The earthquake that affected Ferrara on 20 and 29 May 2012, marked the significant monument of the Palazzo dei Diamanti. Accurate analysis in fact showed totale dama-ge to structures. The project includes structural repair and seismic strengthening, together with a new functional and architectural progect and plants renovation.

    The project concerns a rural aggregate located in Thiene, Vicenza, consisting of Chilesotti Mansion and several smaller buildings that have been abandoned for years. The project outcomes are 22 units for 1 to 5 member families, a museum and a public park along the river.

    Abstract:An extensive number of measurements of air temperature and humidity collected during the year 2004-2005 was elaborated in order to describe the microclimatic conditions for the conservation of the Museums collection and to suggest which kind of materials can be safely stored in it. The reference Italian standard for this kind of evaluations is the Italian Standard UNI 10829 . The temperature and relative humidity values were measured each 10 minutes, but the mean hourly value was used to find: the hourly profile; the maximum, the minimum, the mean value and the standard deviation for yearly and monthly period; the frequency distribution and the cumulative frequency of the hourly values of the parameters over each month, considering also a differential index (DI) to give an overall evaluation of the microclimate. Successively a dynamic simulation has been implemented in order to evaluate the measu-rements to put in action in order to improve the microclimatic conditions. Some different strategies were compared: the envelope improvement; the temperature control; the tempe-rature and humidity control; the night ventilation.

    Abstract: Bagno Grande is a small village next to Aquila city, that evolves since 1200, where we spent 3 days. It was hit by the ear-thquake in 2012, and then abandoned. Beside the structural project, the energetical improvement and the lighting arrangement, we turned the buildings into a social housing community, with ancient common spaces, public walkways, and some contempo-rary adds of wood and glass.

    Former Panificio Militare, Santa Marta is a grandiose military construction, which will become headquarter of the Univer-sity of Verona. In this case the laboratory, once the yard had already started, asked us to realize detailed three-dimensio-nal drawings, to study the insertion of project items (iron and glass volumes and roofing) and the restoring of the surfaces, together with the definition of the amortization schedule.
