Assignment 5: Of the Sections

Section Model of Sine Center for Arts

In this assignment, our studio aimed to unlock the depth of the space inside our assigned buildings. Personally, I enjoyed it since it opened a new perspective for me in building analysis.

Hybrid Section of Sine Center for Arts

In this assignment, our studio aimed to find a hierarchy among the enclosed spaces by using hybridizing the section using different ma-terials. (Plastic application)

Workshop 1

Seamless Mesh

This is the result of a group work of two. It uses Exeter library and Sine center parts.

This is the result of a group work of four. Foamcore was used as the main material with green foam as support.

Hand Drawn Perspectives of the Section Mesh Assignment

After we were done with assignment 5. We evolved it by meshing different seamless parts together. (Pen tracing of the renders to make lines clear-cut)

Digital Section of Sine Center and Exeter Library Mesh

In this assignment, our studio put forth digital section making skills in order to document our seamless meshes (Rhino)

Assignment 6: Facade Study and MaterialityIn this assignment, we analysed new precedents and evolved them to fit our vision of architecture. My precedent was Mercia town hall.

Rhino was used extensively to show the frontal facade, facade analysis, space analysis and facade layer. Sketches were done using pen on A4 or sketch paper.

Renders of the Facade StudyIn this assignment, we delved into the procedure of pushing our design into a more realistic state. We used rhino V-ray rendering to accomplish this. Also, photoshop was used to cover surfaces.

Assignment 7: NY Archive LibraryIn this assignment, we fuse our knowledge that we gathered throu-ghout the first and the second semester and produce a new building.I use my precedent from assignment 6 as my starting point.

Assignment 7: Renderings

This rendering shows the dynamism of facade as the middle part goes forward while the right and left goes back to show the importance of the middle structure.

This rendering gives a feel of the circu-lation that occurs in the ground level. Also, displays the side entrance.
