122 TAVI ptes (CoreValve 79.5%, Edwards SAPIEN 20.5%)

Conclusiones

Con datos a 3 años, TAVI mantiene superioridad al TM y muestra ser comparable a la

cirugía en pacientes de alto riesgo quirúrgico. Esperamos resultados en poblaciones

de menor riesgo.

Los resultados de las válvulas Edwards SAPIEN y CoreValve son comparables excepto

por una mayor necesidad de marcapaso definitivo en las últimas, lo cual no afecta el

pronóstico.

Los resultados iniciales de la práctica en nuestro país son comparables a los

internacionales y necesitamos continar este esfuerzo para obtener datos propios a

mediano y largo plazo.

Algunas complicaciones tienen implicancias pronósticas adversas. Todo esfuerzo

encaminado a prevenir, atenuar y/o corregir estas complicaciones deberá probar su

eficacia en disminuir el impacto negativo de las mismas.

Esperamos resultados alentadores de nuevas válvulas que están en desarrollo o en

fases clínicas iniciales. En un futuro cercano estaremos discutiendo que válvula es

mejor para cada condición clínica y/o anatómica particular.
