The “Ethiopiques” collection is a series of Ethiopian jazz albums that have been successful for years across the world and represent the golden age of modern Ethiopian music. Ethiopiques is a reference point for African music, a sort of audio emissary for Ethiopia’s musical heritage.
For the digital release of these 19 volumes, Believe worked with iTunes to create worldwide exposure for the collection, including :
iTunes- Rotating banner on all iTunes home pages in Europe;- Fixed banner on all iTunes world music home pages in Europe;- Editorial in all iTunes Europe newsletters;- Creation of a dedicated “Ethiopiques” page on iTunes.
In addition, Believe created three ring tones distributed on all major services in Europe: Vodafone, Orange, SFR, Zingy, Plurimedia….
Following the iTunes release, the online marketing campaign for the collection will be completed in the coming weeks with major promotion efforts on other online and wireless music services, including as VirginMega, Wanadoo, MSN Music, Napster…

In large part as a result of the promotional exposure on these services, a number of albums from “The Ethiopiques” were ranked in the top 50 overall album sales on iTunes, with :
- one album (“Volume 4”) topping the charts at number 1 in the world music chart in the U.K., France, Germany;
- several other albums ranked in the top 10 of world music album sales in the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada and the United States.
