AFFINITY PROGRAM/TD BANK PROGRAM

Help support LPCC’s fundraising efforts by joining TD Bank’s Affinity Membership Program. Your participation earns us an annual donation based upon the number of members enrolled. In our first full year of participating in the program, we received over $3500 (and in the years following) from the bank simply because 50 of you who bank at TD Bank named us as your Affinity Program Designees.TD Bank does not give us any information about you – not who you are nor what you have in your accounts. The bank simply makes a donation to our organization if 50 or more account holders designate our group. The donation is based on a formula and the money does not come from you – it comes from the bank. If the number of you drops below 50, we receive noth-ing. So, if you bank with TD Bank or are looking for a new bank to do business with, please designate the Lake Pine Colony Club as your designee to insure that at least 50 people or companies designate us for the program.Eligible accounts include: Checking, Money Market, Savings, CD, and IRATo sign up for the program, all you need to do is give them our organization’s name and they’ll take care of the rest. To become a member of the Lake Pine Col-ony Club Affinity Membership Program, call the Lake Pine Branch at (856) 596-6622.To open an account, visit any TD Bank Branch or call 1-888-751-9000.

SELLERS: BE PATIENT

Patience and wise advice is the key. Despite unquestioned improvement in the marketplace, the road to a successful settlement is littered with land mines… that is after buyer and seller have agreed on price and terms. It’s the process that often becomes the deal-killer. It all starts with the appraisal (#1 deal killer), after which is the inspection (#2 deal-killer) which often discovers multiple defects... each requiring remediation or negotiation or explanation… or all of the above. Trust me; the process has never seen so many barriers to completing a sale. Sellers are exasperated and then become vulnerable. Have I convinced you of the need for extremely knowledgeable assistance? Does your agent know how to get your Homestead Rebate after the sale? Call me.

Dear Neighbors and Friends,I cannot thank you enough for the generous amount of donations that you contributed toward Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. We were able to deliver almost ten truckloads full of items to Ocean County families. The fami-lies who received these items expressed so much gratitude and appreciation for your efforts - you helped instill a sense of hope and community in people who had lost everything. THANK YOU Lake Pine community for your hearts of gold. I want to extend an extra special thank you to Carlie Cattanea who actually came up with the idea of reaching out to Lake Pine and volunteered her time to gather donations. I want to share a recent post by Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark:Be kind to others: The energy we extend will always reflect the spirit we possess. Be kind to others: We are all more fragile than we let on.Be kind to others: Perhaps the biggest thing you can do today is a small act of kindness. Be kind to others: You can’t illuminate another’s path without bringing light onto your own. Be kind to others: It costs nothing but has infinite value.Be kind to others: “Whenever possible and it is always possible”Thank you neighbors and friends for your incredible generosity. Wishing you and your families a warm and wonderful holiday season.~Mark Finley

THE ANNUAL LAKE PINE HALLOWEEN PARTY WAS A BLAST!

Becca Finley would like to thank Ben Clark, Chelsea Duerholz, Tammy Herbert, Connie Livingson, Brandy Jer-icho-Beach, and Joyce Scheller for helping to make the Halloween Party a fun event for everyone! And there was quite a lot of fun to be had at the annual tradition with face painting, crafts, games, a spooky fog machine and contests. Many wonderful pumpkins were entered into the pumkin carving contest but a big congratula-tions to the Beckwith family who won the carving contest. Another congratulations to Maddy who guessed the correct amount of candy in the jar and got to take the whole thing home!

The restoration of Public Works services has been made possible by the passage of the referendum in April. Please keep checking the website at www.medfordtownship.com for additional information and for updates

and changes in the service schedule.Vegetative Debris Collection: The pickup of vegetative debris, or brush, left in the wake of Hurricane Sandy will begin the week of December 10th. Residents are asked to move all brush curbside immediately and to avoid placing it under wires or low hanging trees. Medford Township has contracted with Ceres Environmen-tal to remove and dispose of the brush along the Township right-of-way. Brush pickup is expected to begin within Zone 1 and will progress rapidly through the remainder of the zones thereafter. The contractor will be working during daylight hours, seven days a week and will only make one pass. Any problems or issues with the contractor should be reported to the Public Works Department at 609-654-2608, ext. 322.

The pickup of brush is separate and apart from the Township leaf collection program. Please follow previous guidance issued by the Public Works Department regarding the status of leaf collection.

Sanitation Collection: Weekly sanitation collection continues at the current service level.

Bulk Trash Collection: Bulk trash pickup will be provided quarterly. Additional information will be provided at www.medfordtownship.com when specific dates are determined.

Public Works Yard Hours: Yard hours continue Monday to Wednesday, and Friday from 7AM to 2PM, and Thursday from 7 AM to 7 PM. The yard will be open on the third Saturday of each month from 8AM to 12PM.

Brush Collection: Brush collection will be provided two times per year. The first collection following the refer-endum has been completed. Fall collection is scheduled for September and October. In subsequent years, it is anticipated that brush collection will be in the Spring and the Fall. Residents may still bring brush to the public works yard per the yard hours schedule above. Residents are reminded that pursuant to Township Code Chapter 82, trunks and stumps will not be collected. In addition, the Township will not collect brush piles with tree trunks and/or stumps commingled with brush as well as brush piles with any other non-brush debris such as leaves, grass clippings, etc. Furthermore, brush generated by professional tree removers, trimmers, or landscapers shall be removed by private services within 10 days from the date it is generated. Brush cannot be placed in trash containers as well. If Township sanitation crews observe brush in trash con-tainers, the container will not be emptied.

Leaf Collection Program: Leaves will be collected once a year beginning November by Township zone. As of the week of December 10th collection efforts were taking place in Zone three with Lake Pine next as we are Zone 4. The order of zones for leaf collection will be rotated each year, with the first zone each year being collected twice, the second time after all zones are completed. In accordance with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regulations for storm water management, no leaves may be placed roadside before times posted by the Township. Chapter 128-14 Yard Waste (defined as leaves and grass clippings). It further states: Sweeping, raking, blowing or otherwise placing yard waste that is not containerized at the curb or along the street is only allowed during the seven (7) days prior to a scheduled and announced col-lection, and shall not be placed closer than 10 feet from any storm drain inlet. Placement of such yard waste at the curb or along the street at any other time or in any other manner is a violation of this article. If such placement of yard waste occurs, the party responsible for placement of the yard waste must remove the yard waste from the street or said party shall be deemed in violation of this article.

Christmas Tree Collection: Christmas trees will be collected following the sanitation collection schedule, providing for two pickups per zone the first two weeks in January. Trees may also be dropped off to the yard per the yard schedule. Beginning in 2013, any Christmas trees placed in with spring brush collection will not be collected.
