Air to water production (AW 75)

    Dutch Rainmaker

an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for a worldwide problem!

Dutch Rainmaker is a young technology driven innovative company active in the water sector. Our

product features breakthrough technology with highly sustainable features. The concept for

freshwater generation has the potential to revolutionize water generation on a global scale.

Dutch Rainmaker has developed a truly disruptive technology producing water off -grid, poweredsolely by renewable energy, with the highest energy efficiency ratings, no discharge and no need to

    access inflow water.

This product is applicable in various climates and geographically appropriate for

    many regions of the world.

The Companys first field-proven series (the AW75 turbine) is in operation with

pilot customers in Kuwait and the Netherlands. The AW75 turbine can produce

up to 7,500 liters of clean water per day.

The unique proposition of Dutch Rainmaker is that our products require little to

no existing infrastructure, which makes them especially suited for remote

locations. Specifically so if these locations lack their own access to water sources.

Furthermore, no external power sources are required because of its independent

energy generation from the windmills rotors. The systems convert energy from

wind into mechanical energy by the use of the rotor. Instead of converting this

into electrical energy as commonly is the case, it is converted into thermal energy. The system uses this energy in the form of cooling.

Air to water production (AW 75)

    Dutch Rainmaker

an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for a worldwide problem!

The Dutch Rainmaker AW75 concept is a system whereby a stand-alone

wind turbine is placed in regions lacking water sources. This system is

especially suited for such environments if there is also no access to

briny, brackish or polluted water bodies.

    A Dutch rainmaker system, literally,

    makes freshwater from air!

The systems wind turbine does not drive a generator to

produce electricity, as is commonly the case. Instead it drives a

heat pump which is directly powered by the wind turbines

blades. With the heat pump the water vapour in the air is

condensed and collected for domestic or irrigation purposes.

    Operating principle Air-to-Water

Depending on local ambient temperatures and humidity conditions airnaturally contains a certain amount of water. This makes it possible to make

water from air almost anywhere in the

world. For example, air of 20C and 50%

    RH (relative humidity) contains

approximately 7.5 grams of water per

kilogram of air whereas air of 30 C and

50% RH contains almost 14 grams of

water per kilogram of air. (1 m of air

    weighs approx. 1.3 kg).

The turbine forces air through a heat

exchanger where the air is cooled-

    and condensation takes place. When

the temperature falls below its dew-

point water droplets will form. These

are then collected in a water storage

compartment. Warm ambient air, in particular, can contain large

amounts of water. Lowering the temperature of air requires relatively

little energy. By doing so large volumes of water become available by

condensation and can be used as drinking water or irrigation water.

Production capacity is determined by a combination of variables. For example air at 30 and 60% RelativeHumidity(RH) contains roughly 16 grams of water per kilogram of air. In comparison, air at 35 and 80% RH cancontain up to 30.5 grams of water per kilogram of air. The above table shows some examples of combinations of

variables and their relative capacity of performance for our windmills. The Mollier diagram on the right is used todetermine these values for any combination of variables. The marked points on the diagram coincide with the valuesin the table. The oint on the left marks the conditions to which the s stem converts the incomin air

The green lines in the graph correspond with actual production data. The markings on and between the linesrepresent performance of the Dutch Rainmaker system under the respective variables. The table below shows the

exact data for those dates. Both the highest and lowest performance in terms of volume is highlighted in green. Thisshows the margin in which the mill produces under the conditions that are present throughout the year inLeeuwarden, the Netherlands.

    Dutch Rainmaker

an environmentally friendly and sustainable solution for a worldwide problem!

    OUR MARKETS

Dutch Rainmaker systems are to be installed in areas to relief

    shortages in water for:

    Drinking water

    Agriculture

    Industrial

    Tourism & Islands

    Fire fighting

    Military

Either as stand alone systems, expansion in existing grids or as a

    substitute to less sustainable systems.

The Dutch Rainmaker systems have a variety of potential applications. It can help rural areas provide the

required water for domestic purposes but can also help industrial installations to reduce their

environmental impact on local water sources.

We intend our product to help solve problems such as in fire fighting, by having water readily available, orfor irrigation purposes in the agricultural sector by generating an independent supply. This makes it suitable

for many locations that are either off-grid or have poorly maintained infrastructures. Islands, coastal

regions, mainland and even rural inland areas could be very well served by our technology and its

    applications.
