Colocación (Placement) of Direct Object Pronouns (DOP)
• Generalmente se coloca antes del verbo conjugado.
-Carlos nos invitó a su casa.
• En una construcción que usa el infinitivo se puede colocar unido al infinitivo o antes del verbo conjugado sin cambiar el significado de la frase.
– Carlos va a invitarnos a su casa.– Carlos nos va a invitar a su casa.

pasado or futuro) que usa el participio presente (-ando -iendo), se puede colocar unido al participio o antes del verbo conjugado sin cambiar el significado de la frase.

• Indica a quién (to whom) se le da algo o por quién (to/for whom) se hace algo o de quién (from whom) algo es comprado, pedido, sacado, quitado, etc.

• Para los verbos comprar (to buy), pedir prestado (to borrow) o sacar/quitar (to take
away), el objeto indirecto responde la pregunta: ¿de quién? (from whom?).
– Les compré 8 cajas de galletas a las chicas de “Girls Scouts”.

• Algunas veces se usa el objeto indirecto junto con el pronombre de compemento indirecto en la misma oración con el propósito de clarificar quién es el objeto directo o para enfatizarlo (to emphasize it).
– Le hablamos a la profe. – We talked to the teacher.– Me dio el regalo a mí.– He gave the gift to me (not to you!)

Colocación (placement) de IOPs
• Los IOPs siguen las mismas reglas de colocación que los DOPs.
• Antes que el verbo conjugado (o participio presente).
– Le hablamos a la profe. – Le estamos hablando a la profe.
• Unido al final de un infinitivo (o participio resente).– Vamos a hablarle a la profe.– Le vamos a hablar a la profe.– *Estamos hablándole a la profe.

• Ambos (both) promobres se colocan en la misma parte de la oración, no se pueden separar.

• Cuando colocas los pronombres al final del infinitivo debes añadir un acento ortográfico sobre la antepenúltima vocal (on the 3rd syllable from the back).
