Hal Qormi

Facts

• Hal Qormi is the second largest city in Malta with approximately 18, 230 souls.

• Our City is located in the southern region of Malta.

• Its bordering towns are: Marsa, Luqa, Siggiewi, Zebbug, Hamrun, St Venera & Birkirkara.

• In Hal Qormi there are two valleys, Wied il-Kbir and Wied is-Sewda.

• Hal Qormi has two parishes, one dedicated to St Goerge and the other dedicated to St Sebestian.

• Our town used to be called differently. It was called Hal Fornaro as it used to be famous and still is, for making bread and the amount of bakeries around the city.

BREAD MAKING

• We are proud in what we do and achieve such as having two of the Presidents of Malta being from Qormi. These are the Ex-President Dr George Abela and the former President Marie Lousie Coleiro Preca.
