Presentation:
Hello good day , i am Yovana and he is Luis Enrique and we studied at the Technological
University of Torreón and then we will talk about:
-Variability
-Western Electric Rules
- Nelson Rules
Luis Enrique: What is variability?
Yovana: Name given to the differences in the behavior of all observable phenomenon
that is repeated under equal conditions, due to changes in non-controllable factors, that
influence
Luis Enrique : What are the types of variability?
Yovana:
Identifiable: is caused by factors that are identifiable; this variability does not present a statistical behavior and, therefore, are not predictable the outputs.
Random: is caused by random factors (wear parts, maintenance, people, measurement equipment,
Luis Enrique: What is the importance of variability?
Yovana: The variability is required to modify the process when you want to achieve different results either to improve or correct a process that requires adjustment.
Luis Enrique: What is the principle of variability in the process?
Yovana: In a production process, the principle of variability is perfect, despite the fact that in this process is performed the same operation, the same method of work
Yovana:
-materia prima:
– materiales
-medio ambiente
–mano de obra
Luis Enrique:
Luis Enrique: What are the factors that affect the variability?
Yovana: -Raw material: - materials - the environment -labor
Luis Enrique : What is Western Electric Rules?
Yovana: .
In Statistical Process Control, the Western Electric Rules are decision rules for detecting "out-of-control" or non-random conditions on control charts.
The Western Electric Rules were codified by a specially-appointed committee of the manufacturing division of the Western Electric Company and appeared in the first edition of its Statistical Quality Control Handbook in 1956.
Luis Enrique: ¿Qué es Western Electric Rules?
Yovana:
Luis Enrique : What are the 4 rules of western electric rules?
Yovana: The Western Electric Rules are:
Rule 1
Any single data point falls outside the 3σ limit from the
centerline (i.e., any point that falls outside Zone A,
beyond either the upper or lower control limit)
Rule 2
Two out of three consecutive points fall beyond the 2σ
limit (in zone A or beyond), on the same side of the
centerline
Rule 3
Four out of five consecutive points fall beyond the 1σ
limit (in zone B or beyond), on the same side of the
centerline
Rule 4 Nine consecutive points fall on the same side of the
centerline (in zone C or beyond)
Luis Enrique : ¿Cuáles son las 4 reglas de Western Electric Rules?
Yovana: Las 4 reglas de Western Electric Rules son:
REGLA 1
CUANDO ENCONTRAMOS ALGUNOS DE LOS PUNTOS SOBRE 3 SIGMAS YA SEA INFERIOR O SUPERIOR SOBRE
LA LINEA CENTRAL , NO ESTA BIEN , LO CUAL ES ACONSEJABLE ANALIZAR DETALLADAMENTE EL PROCESO
PARA DETECTAR LA CAUSA.
REGLA 2
DOS DE CADA TRES PUNTOS CONSECUTIVOS SE PRESENTAN MÁS ALLÁ DE 2 SIGMAS SOBRE LA LINEA
CENTRAL SI SE PRESENTA CONTINUAMENTE EN UN PROCESO , LA VARIABILIDAD DEL PROCESO NO SERIA
ALEATORIO
REGLA 3
CUANDO TENEMOS 4 DE CADA 5 PUNTOS CONSECUTIVOS MAS ALLA DEL SIGMA , ES DECIR, SOBRE LA ZONA
B, LO CUAL REQUIERE SER AJUSTADO.
REGLA 4
CUANDO HAY 9 PUNTOS CONSECUTIVOS, SOBRE LA LINEA CENTRAL VAS MAS ALLA DE LA ZONA C
ES MEJOR RESTABLECES OTRA VEZ EL PROCESO.
Yovana: ¿What is Nelson Rules?
Luis Enrique:
Nelson rules are a method in process control of determining if some measured variable is out of
control. Rules, for detecting "out-of-control" or non-random conditions were first postulated by
Walter A. Shewhart.
The rules are applied to a control chart on which the magnitude of some variable is plotted against time. The rules are based around the mean value and the standard deviation of the samples.
Yovana : ¿Qué es Nelson Rules?
Luis Enrique:
Yovana: What are Nelson Rules?
Luis Enrique : Nelson Rules are:
Rule Description Chart Example Problem Indicated
Rule
1
One point is more than
3 standard deviations
from the mean.
One sample (two
shown in this case) is
grossly out of
control.
Rule
2
Nine (or more) points
in a row are on the
same side of the mean.
Some prolonged bias
exists.
Rule
3
Six (or more) points in
a row are continually
increasing (or
decreasing).
A trend exists.
Rule
4
Fourteen (or more)
points in a row
alternate in direction,
increasing then
decreasing.
This much oscillation
is beyond noise.
This is directional
and the position of
the mean and size of
the standard
deviation do not
affect this rule.
Rule
5
Two (or three) out of
three points in a row
are more than 2
standard deviations
from the mean in the
same direction.
There is a medium
tendency for samples
to be mediumly out
of control.
The side of the mean
for the third point is
unspecified.
Alguna tendencia prolongada existe.
veces arbitraria.
