THE CIRCULAR ROAD. Road length: 63 km. Starting point: Hotel Plan-ja. Road alignment: Hotel Planja, Koča na Pesku (Cabin on Pesek), Koča na Klopnem vrhu (Klopni Vrh Cabin), primeval forest Šumik (waterfalls Mali and Veliki Šumik), Lobnica Natural Reserve, Dom na Osankarici (House on Osankarica), Hotel Planja. Important sights along the way: primeval forest Šumik z Malim in Velikim slapom Šumik, Lobnica Natural Reserve, Osankarica.

From the Pizzeria the trail guides you to Koča na Pesku (Cabin on Pesek), where the Rogla equestrian and fishing centres are located. Leaving the Koča na Pesku the trail runs towards the mountain hut on Klopni vrh, where you are warmly welcomed with a truly strong brandy. The mighty trees greet you on your way through the primeval forest Šumik, a natural reserve in the Lobnica gorge with two waterfalls - Mali Šumik (the Small Šumik – 9 m) and Veliki Šumik (the Big Šumik - 36 m). After a few kilometres the Dom on Osankarica offers you refresh-ments and a chance to see the permanent exhibition on the Pohorje Battalion. The Memorial Park is dedicated to all the partisan fighters who died in 1943 in a battle against the occupiers. Not far away is Črno Jezero (Black Lake), the water from which used to provide the means to transport timber to the valley. From Osankarica the trail turns again and brings you back to Rogla via Pesek.

Road length: 24,7 km. Starting point: Hotel Dobrava. Road alignment: Hotel Dobrava, Gračič, Zlakova, Črešnova, Gorenje, Koroška vas, Planina (860 m). Important sights along the way: The Mother of God Church at Brinjeva gora from the 18th century (a well known pilgrimage site), the 18th century Church of St. Agnes, the remains of the Freudenberg Castle (first mentioned in the year 1224), The 16th century, Church of St. Martin, Church od Sv. Kunigunda from 1391.

Leaving Terme Zreče, the trail takes you down to the lower industrial zone, where once a black coalmine was located. From here the trail slightly raises to-ward the village of Gračič and the peak of Brinjeva gora, where the first traces of settlement date back around 4000 years in history, thus in the early Stone Age. Moreover, the settlement of Brinjeva gora did not cease afterwards, but remained in existence throughout the Bronze Age and the Iron Age and did not disappear even during the times of the Celts and the Romans. Afterwards, the Old Slavic people settled the place, and the Freudenberg Castle stood proud and strong in the Middle Ages. Today Brinjeva gora is mainly recognised for the pilgrimages to the Mother of God Church and the Church of St. Agnes. Leaving this historic site the trail takes you to the Zimrajh Guesthouse, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee without even realising that you are drinking it on a Roman burial ground. Amidst numerous meadows and fields the trail brings you to Gorenje nad Zrečami, where you can visit the Church of St. Kunigunda from the year 391, which is said to have been built by the Counts of Celje. From here, you follow the trail accross Planina and Padeški vrh to Rogla.

THE CIRCULAR ROAD. Road length: 12,8 km. Starting point: Hotel Do-brava. Road alignment: Hotel Dobrava, Radana vas, Gabrovlje, Slovenske Konjice, Zlati grič, Škalce, Gračič, Hotel Dobrava. Important sights along the way: the old city centre of Slovenske Konjice, the 14th century Church of St. George, Trebnik Mansion (recognised for its herbal medicine), Rie-mer City Gallery …

A part of this trail runs on the same alignment as the 2.4 track. At the crossroads the trail directs you toward the Radana Village and the old track of a narrow-gauge line will bring you all the way to Slovenske Konjice. From here, the trail takes you through the spacious vines, past the old vinedress-ers’ cottages, all the way to the Zlati Grič Wine Shop in the heart of Škalce. Here, you can stimulate your senses with a glass of an exquisite wine. The view is magnificent and overlooks the Golf Course, Slovenske Konjice with its surroundings and Konjiška gora with all the remains of the mighty Castle of Konjice. On returning to Terme Zreče you have the option of taking the same trail or the trail that runs across to the Gračič Village.

THE CIRCULAR ROAD. Road length: 27,5 km. Starting point: Hotel Planja. Road alignment: Hotel Planja, turning Vitanje, Skomarje, Ar-bajter stag farm, Resnik with church of St. Jacob. Just before entering the main road a left turn guides you onto the tarmac road towards Rogla.Important sights along the way: Skomarje (Skomarje House, the church of St. Lambert, the Memorial Room dedicated to the Pohorje poet Jurij Vodovnik), Resnik with the church of St. Jacob, Tourist farm Kovše, Rogla, Hotel Planja.

You ride to the village of Resnik on the 2.2. trail. At the Kovše Tourist Farm the trail splits and starts rising on a forest path from the upper mixed forest limit up to the main Zreče-Rogla road and back to Rogla.

trail guides you towards Frankolovo and a left turn at the branch line takes you to Črešnjice, where it ascends gradually. The Church of the Lady of Ro-sary in Črešnjice was first mentioned in 1402 and is definitely worth visiting. Afterwards, the trail across the picturesque landscape leads you along the tarmac road and you enter the Valley of St. John the Baptist in no time offer-ing a view of the Žiče Carthusian Monastery which was founded in the years 1155-1165. Afterwards, the trail runs through Škedenj, Špitalič and Žiče. Turning left at the crossroads, the trail takes you in the direction of Slovenske Konjice. Riding through the Konjiška Village and Blato and turning left after a few minutes brings you to the Žiče Road which leads to the old city centre of Slovenske Konjice, known as the »city of wine and flowers«. Immediately after passing the mighty Church of St. George you must take a right turn. This trail guides you through the Celje-Maribor main road crossroads and, turning left past the preserved and displayed locomotive. This trail then takes you thorugh Škalce, Gabrovlje and Dobrovlje all the way to Zreče.

Road length: 35,4 km. Starting point: Hotel Dobrava. Road align-ment: Hotel Dobrava, Loška gora, Šentvid, Skomarje (944 m). Impor-tant sights along the way: The Beškovnik Granary in Šentvid, where a museum of old items is arranged, dates back to the year 1814. It is situated near the Roman burial ground and a small Chapel, Ošlak forge (of the old blacksmith’s trade, the area of Zreče has preserved only the Ošlak Forge in Boharina. According to written sources, it was established around 1770), The Skomarje House (with the Memorial Room dedicated to the Pohorje poet Jurij Vodovnik presents one of the most important cultural monuments in Slovenia. The trail runs through the settlement of Zreška Dobrava towards Rogla all the way to the Mlin Buffet, which is located under the sheer slope where the Loschberg Castle once used to stand. Gradually, the trail starts rising towards Bukova gora, which is named after the lush beech forests. From Bukova gora (Beech Hill) the trail winds past the Čebelica Buffet and the Church of St. Vida to Skomarje Village, the cradle of the clog-making craft, among other ethnological treasures. From here, the trail follows the cycling tracks 2.2 and 2.3 towards Rogla.

Important sights along the way: Tourist farm Urška, remains of the Roman road in Čretvež, Unitur’s Rogla Spring Water Bottling Centre, Memorial Room in Vitanje dedicated to the Slovenian pioneer of astronautics, Herman Potočnik – Noordung.

The trail takes you through a settlement of terraced houses and winds all the way up to the settlement of Križevec. Past the Urška Tourist Farm the trail descends towards Stranice. Here, it crosses the main Celje-Maribor road and disappears among the orchards. It continues through Bukovlje and be-comes somewhat windy on its way towards the Stranice Ponds, where you can relax in the cool air and gather your strength for the return journey. From the Stranice Ponds head towards the nearby rise Stenica which offers a gorgeous view of the surrounding area. After descending from the peak and crossing the pass, Ljubnica accompanies you back toTerme Zreče.

This trail runs through a settlement of terraced houses and past the lake. After the bridge across the Koprivnica Brook you must turn left and follow the winding trail to the settlement of Križevec. Pass the Urška Tourist Farm and the trails descends towards Stranice. Turning left at the crossroads you arrive at the Celje-Maribor main road, where a right turn directs you towards Celje. The main trail takes you to Graben na Stranicah, where the Frankolovo Victims’ Museum keeps a permanent collection dedicated to the deaths of a hundred hostages. The trail leads to the Mlin Buffet on the 2.5 track. From the direction of Ljubnica the trail branches off to Golek, which is a popular excursion des-tination for local inhabitants and the visitors of Zreče alike. Afterwards, the trail descends to the Stranice-Vitanje road and continues towards Stranice, where an important Roman road used to run, connecting Emona, Celeia and Poetovio. The return back to Zreče takes you through the village of Križevec, riding past a number of well-tended farms and the lake in Koprivnica.

From Rogla the trail descends towards the valley. Soon it branches off, and the tarmac Pohorje road brings you to the highest situated serried Slovenian village of Skomarje. Skomarje was the birthplace of the Pohorje poet and actor Jurij Vodovnik. In the centre of the village you can visit the Pohorje House, which is a typical example of the traditional Pohorje architecture. Worth seeing also is the Church of St. Lambert. Past the Arbajter Stag Farm the trail leads you to the Resnik Village, which extends over the long Pohorje ridge. The Church of St. Jacob is the pride of the village. As you cross the main Zreče-Rogla road the traill starts slightly rising up to Jurgovo. From the apartment house on Jurgovo, the trail runs across Pesek back to Rogla. Just before entering the main road a left turn guides you onto the tarmac road towards Rogla.
