Chicago.
My darling Mother ; -
My head has been troubling me badly again for the last
three days - and I dont think that I've written this week, so
I'll try a few words.
Doctor left monday morning for a meeting of Austen Coal
and Coke co . Stockholders in Austen West Va . and went on (or
at least wrote me while waiting for the train .) to Clarks -
burg that Tues . eve . for a flying visit to our Harrison fam-
ily in Clarksburg to start back last night - and be home to-
night.
I send Alice some neck wear such as she asked for - as
nearly as I could get it - by this mail . In trying to make
some simplest fihu style one - but my head is very trouble-
some - Mary helped me some button hole stiching the under
sides of these stylish collors - which Alice can turn in much
or little as she chooses.
I'm so glad that you've feeling better - I'm quite well
except the head and the old last summer symptoms - think it
was the extra excitement last week and lack of sleep last
night I let the children go to prayer meeting without me and
went to , bed at eight (Miss Stone saw them home) and today I r y
stared at home from Presbyterial meeting.
Please give my love and apologies to Gusta over the tele -
phone and tell her that I will be more than glad to do what I
can to make it pleasant in any way for Mrs . Lausdown when
she is in the city . I wanted to have Dr . Ward and his sis-
ter and little Harriet here today - but will hope to be ab-
le by Saturday . Tell Gusta the children talk of -er so of-
ten and lovingly .- that it would do her heart good and our
peas and berries etc . etc . are nothing to those at " Tauti Ta-
ti t s" - With love to you all - and, so glad you are better.
Your
Grace.
Written in between the lines in Paragraph three (3).
But I'd like to have her give one of the collars to Gusta -
The three white ones are all late styles, and if you like the
old fashioned - " newest style just in today" at Marshall Fields
one-) (picture of a collar) I'll get you one like it.
Enclosed :.
