Period : July 2014– Present

Responsibilities

Monitoring around 50 assets (approx. 300+ workflows). It includes daily/weekly/monthly/adhoc runs.

Production Incidents:

TYPE 1- Production Run Incidents: Workflow failed during run or didn’t start as expected. The root cause

of the trouble needs to be identified and if possible has to be rectified such that the same error never

occurs again

TYPE 2- Production Data Incidents: After the data goes Live, the business/Certification team raises

objections on the authenticity/accuracy of the data being loaded into the tables. These

objections/alerts have to be verified for their validity and if found to be a bug, then this issue is

promoted to the status: Production Ticket (or) Production Incident.

Production Fixes:

For the above 2 types of incidents, we usually have 2 fixes

TYPE 1- History Fix : This involves updating the target tables such that the erroneous data is either

removed and/or updated such that it is in sync with the business requirements

TYPE 2- Incremental Fix: This involves updating the logic in the Informatica Mapping Designer and

Workflow Manager so that the data would be populated correctly into the target tables.

Process Flow for fixes:

After the issue/incident is verified, the following is done

The workflow/mapping components are copied from the Production Environment into the Development

Environment.

The code changes are made.

Testing is done to check the accuracy of the data and performance of the system.

Upon successful completion of the above, the code is sent to the Business SIT team for testing the

accuracy of the data.

Upon successful completion of the above, the code is migrated to Integration environment.

The workflow is run and the data is loaded into the target tables. Again the Business SIT team validates

the data.

Upon successful completion of the above, the code is migrated to Production Environment.

The workflow run is monitored for 1-2 loads and if the data is found to be error free, then the ticket (incident) is

closed for that incident.

• Highmark is like a third party company, BCBSMN has decided to migrate its strategic IT assets to Highmark’s

Blue Core Platform. The functions that were handling by Blue cross will be taken care of High mark in future.

• Under the initiative of ‘Operating Model Transformation’ (OMT), all groups will be migrated in phases. BCBSMN

Datawarehouse will get the migrated data from Highmark and this data will be loaded in newly created Analytical

Information Datawarehouse (AIW) to support EDIM’s Downstream Data Consumers (submissions, neighborhoods

and reporting).

• In BCBSMN there are many domains like Membership, claims, Client, Product, etc., BCBSMN is selling these

domain information to HM.

• And the first and fore most thing that BCBSMN sends is the Conversion data of Member information to Highmark

so that they will generate Client IDs so as to maintain it.

Project Description:

CMR ETL loads Alineo Reporting Extracts Files into SDS and CMR tables. The CMR is a replication of MeDecision’s

Alineo’s Cache database normalized to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota structures using Blue Cross Blue Shield

of Minnesota naming.

Since BlueCross can neither access the Alineo databases directly nor is the database design under our control,

BlueCross has decided to create a replication of the database within our data center using our business-model-

based design.

In a simple term, CMR is a repository that contains all the information of Patients and doctors as well as their

medicine’s information.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Being in a two member team has given me an opportunity to take the responsibilities of the project activities from

Analyzing of logical requirements, Designing, Developing, Unit Testing, Functional Testing, and Defect Fixing,

Document preparation for Migration and Production support.
