Awards Banquet
Dinner and Awards Ceremony
Start the evening off at our cash bar and reception for Training Partners, leadership volunteers, Instructors/Trainers and Red Cross staff. Meet, mingle and relax before proceeding to the banquet room for a delicious meal. Be inspired by our keynote speaker. Wrap up the evening in celebration as we recognize the outstanding efforts of our Training Partners and volunteers.

In addition to our delicious dinner and awards presentation, we are pleased to have Gabriel Israel from Parachute talk about preventing injuries and saving
lives.
What is Parachute?
Their aim is an injury-free Canada. Parachute wants to bring attention to the issue of preventable injury and to help Canadians reduce their risks of injury and enjoy long lives lived to the fullest. Parachute is a national, charitable organization, formed in July 2012, which unites the former organizations of Safe Communities Canada, Safe Kids Canada, SMARTRISK and ThinkFirst Canada into one strong leader in injury prevention. This
passionate, unified voice leverages 80 years of combined injury-prevention experience and we cannot be underestimated in our resolve and capacity to

W1 Working With Your Team—Ethan J. Mings, The Desk Consulting Group Inc.

Where do you find the team bogs down during meetings? Bring your questions and challenges for a round table conversation facilitated by Jerry

Conference Sessions
W3 See It From The Other Side—Tracey Braun, Canadian Red Cross
Have you ever wondered what your skills look like from the participant’s
perspective? As Instructors we sometimes have to modify how we demonstrate the
skill so participants can see all the steps. Are we doing it effectively? With the
use of video we will work towards making the Demonstrate portion of the 4D’s
clear from the other side of the classroom.
W4 Casualty Simulation 1.0—Michel Pennington, On Scene FX
Get ready for realistic wound simulations! Why go through all the trouble of makeup anyway, you say? Well, it engages learning, it prepares participants psychologically for an actual first aid situation, it is an exclamation point in your course, and it is
plain old fun. You will be remembered! And isn’t this what we want for our business? First day focuses on abrasions, contusions, lacerations, bleeding,
burns and more—including how to put a makeup kit together. Limited spaces.
