Planning for Sustainability: Integration at Company and Industry Scales

Businesses that depend on a supply of tropical commodities have moved planning and investment for sustainability to the forefront of their strategies. Concern for their corporate reputations and the long-term supply of raw materials has led companies to commit to a wide range of schemes to increase transparency, ethics and environmental management in their supply chains. These include international standards, voluntary certification schemes, individual company and industry-wide initiatives. This presentation will look at how Rainforest Alliance works with companies on these different approaches and consider what kind of demands they make on companies as they strive to integrate sustainability into every-day business decision-making.

Integrated Business Planning - Creating a One Number Business

The S&OP process is vital to giving the business an understanding of performance to date but more crucially driving the future of our business, helping drive the correct actions to ensure we stay on track, close the gap or stretch performance, to deliver the annual strategy. A key requisite to achieving the purpose of S&OP is to have One-Number in the business, which is visible and aligned.

In this presentation I will share the work done within Danone Dairy UK over the last year to ensure we work as a One-Number business. Our aim has been to ensure we have one forecast throughout the S&OP process which is truly aligned between Marketing, Sales & Supply Chain.
