APAGE 2014 ORGANISING COMMITTEE

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it’s my great honour to welcome you to the 15th Annual Congress of the Asia Pacific Association of Gynecologic Endoscopy and Minimally

Invasive Therapy (APAGE 2014 Kuala Lumpur) to be held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from the 26th November till 30th November 2014.

The Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Malaysia (OGSM) is honoured to co-host this annual congress with the Asia Pacific Association of Gynecologic Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy (APAGE). The theme of this Congress is “Understanding the Science to Master the Art”. Despite the great advances made in Endoscopic Surgery in Gynaecology, there are still many gynaecologists who prefer to perform surgery by the traditional laparotomy. This conference is aimed at encouraging more gynaecologists to acquire the art of endoscopic surgery. To this end, the scientific committee has placed a programme to cater for a wider audience: the novices as well as the experts in endoscopic surgery.

We have invited international and local experts in endoscopic surgery to share their experiences and to

teach both basic and advanced endoscopy. We have also prepared a pre-congress hysteroscopy workshop and a post congress laparoscopic workshop where international experts will demonstrate the art of endoscopic surgery.

Besides the scientific programme, a trade exhibition featuring the latest developments in products and services will also be held to enable delegates receive the most up to date information on innovations in the area of Gynaecologic Endoscopy.

The ultimate success of any congress is the memories left in the delegates’ minds afterwards. I wish all participants a memorable stay and a wonderful scientific meeting – to develop professionally as well as to enjoy friendly Malaysian hospitality.

Dr Sevellaraja SupermaniamOrganising Chairman
