Registered  Facility  –  What  is  Involved?  

•  Prerequisite  Program  (FSEP  or  QMP)  –  basically  your  background  quality  program  including  pest  control,  sanita7on  procedures,  shipping  and  receiving,  etc.  

•  HACCP  plans  for  produc7on  process    •  Other  quality  programs  may  be  implemented  due  to  client  demands  (BRC,  SQF,  etc.)

Regulatory  Issues  –  Organic  Processing    

•  95%  of  ingredients  in  cer7fied  organic  processed  food  products  must  be  organic  

•  Cleaning  agents  must  be  acceptable:    mainly  hydrogen  peroxide  and  chlorine  based  

•  Processes  mainly  the  same  as  conven7onal  •  Storage,  processing  and  handling  must  observe  good  segrega7on  from  non-­‐organics  

•  Shipping  must  observe  segrega7on
