series have been developed to set new standardsin window systems through unrivalled flexibility ofdesign and outstanding weather and thermalperformance.

The 67mm profiles incorporate extrudedpolyamide thermal breaks providing enhancedthermal performance and enabling dual colourfinish where required. Recent AA®600TEPlus

enhancements include convection fins within theframing and vent profiles as well as EPDM “heatshields” in the hardware cavity. Thesemodifications enable the system to outperformthe stringent thermal demands outlined inApproved Document L 2010.

GlazingGlazing and panels up to 51mm thickness can beaccommodated enabling the use of triple glazingwhen there is a requirement for the very highestthermal and acoustic performance.

ConfigurationsThere is an extensive array of configurationsavailable within the high performance AA®600TErange.

TheAA®3110 is available as both a sliding windowand door system, offering project solutions forbalcony applications and increased ventilationwherever this may be a requirement.

Available as double or single sliding options,including 3 or 4 door options, the AA®3110 offerstotal flexibility. The continuous air flow andoptional, integrated self regulation ventilatoroffers an ideal solution for Document Fcompliance. Glazing up to 33mm can beincorporated within the system allowing the useof specialist glazing units such as interstitial blinds.

AA®3572 Lift Slide SystemThe new Kawneer AA®3572 system has beendeveloped as a lift slide solution for projects thatdemand the highest levels of thermal andweathering performance.

The AA®3572 is a thermally insulated system witha vent weight up to 400kg and size up to 3metres. The lift slide system delivers optimumlevels of quality and performance combined withease of operation. Highly robust profiles with highinsulation values enable large areas of glass andfreedom in design for even large spans. Slimmeeting stiles allow the system to remainunobtrusive and, as a sliding system, it is an idealspace saving solution where safety is aconsideration and projecting swing doors areundesirable.

The double EPDM gasket with continuous rebateprovides exceptional weathering performanceand high levels of sound reduction.

451PT Framing SystemThe Kawneer 451PT Framing system offersintegrated framing solutions, ideal for entranceand communal areas. Kawneer’s 451PT providesslim 50mm sightlines which can be incorporatedinto framing modules of varying widths and

heights with polyamide thermal breaks providinghigh thermal performance.

It is fully compatible with the AA®540 andAA®600TE window systems as well as the heavyduty 190/350 door systems.

190/350 Door SystemsKawneer design, engineer and manufacturecomplete door systems for any projectapplication. High standards of processing ensureequally high standards of performance, backedup by a Kawneer Lifetime Guarantee. ‘DualMoment’ welded corners are standard andrepresent the strongest aluminium doorconstruction available. All four corners of the doorare welded four times and fastened mechanically.Rigorous testing has verified its durability andexceptional strength making it an ideal solutionfor entrance and communal doors.

The 190 Narrow Stile door system is an all-purpose door, recommended for use in heavytraffic areas and automatic entrances. The 190door can be installed with the ‘Finger Guard’option, safeguarding against injury to fingersaccidentally caught between the hinge stile andframe.

The AA®100 50mm curtain walling system hasbeen designed to provide the specifier with awide choice of options according to the specificneeds of the project.

The AA®110 65mm curtain walling system hasbeen designed in line with the AA®100 system,the fundamental difference being the depth ofthe glazing rebate. The AA®110 canaccommodate greater levels of barrier loading,enabling the façade to stand up to high levels ofbuilding movement.

AA®100 Fire Rated Curtain WallThe AA®100 Firescreen has been independentlytested to both UK and European fire standardsby the world renowned Warrington Fire ResearchCentre to BS 476-22 and by the centre for FireSafety in Delft, Holland to Pr EN 1364-3.

It is certified fire resistant with 30 minutesintegrity, restraining fire to the inside of thecurtain walling and 30 minutes insulation, keepingheat transference to the outside to a minimummaking it ideal for use in stairwells and othercommunal areas.

Nottingham Lace Market

Kawneer systems helped to bring acontemporary feel to a mixed-use schemelinking Nottingham’s historic Lace Market withthe city centre.

The Lace Market Square development, whichwon a commendation from Nottingham CivicSociety, includes 46 luxury apartments andpenthouses and retail and leisure spacesurrounding a new open square above securebasement parking.

It nestles in the heart of the Lace MarketConservation Area between the city centre’sBridlesmith Gate fashion district and as well asneighbouring eateries and top fashion retailers,comprises retail units on the ground floor abovefour floors of apartments and a standalonerestaurant pavilion in a 11,000ft2 landscapedcentral piazza.

The Quays, ChathamMaritime, Kent

The Quays is a spectacular landmark residentialproject, consisting of 332 apartments in twostriking glass towers of 17 and 21 storeys and afive-storey wharf. It is supported by extensiveleisure and retail facilities, providing a high-quality mixed-use scheme on the south side ofBasin One, overlooking the marina.

“The acoustic performance requirementswere very onerous. We had to achieveinternal noise levels of 30dB during thenight and day due to the site’s inner citylocation, next to a railway line. TheKawneer systems offered sufficientflexibility to meet the design criteria andsuccessful testing was carried out aftercompletion.

The required thermal performance wasachieved easily and we obtained SecuredBy Design. The client was very satisfiedwith the final product and its uniquefaçade design.”

The Shoe Factory,Leicester

Kawneer systems proved the perfect traditionalas well as contemporary fit for a £6 millionredevelopment of a shoe factory into luxuryapartments.

The 44 apartments range from one-bedroomedunits to three-bedroomed duplex penthousesbuilt of steel and lightweight metal framing onthe roof of the original building. All havewraparound terraces to make the most of theirenviable location on the banks of the River Soaroverlooking Abbey Park in Leicester.
