Details About Yellow Phase Plans are still being made for opening. June 1st brings allowing parishioners to attend the weekday liturgies. These will continue to be held at 9:00 am and live streamed. Monday/Wednesday/Friday at St. Mary and Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at St. Ursula. The Saturday evening mass will be live streamed without parishioners. There will be a parking lot mass on Sundays that will not be live streamed. More details will be on our website when they are finalized and in the bulletin next week.

Please remember to pray for the consolation of their loved ones.

Is Your Information Accurate in Our Records? As you update your Census this year with the govern-ment, please think about the records we have for you. Are they correct? Have you dropped your landline, but forgot to update your cell phone? Have you moved recently and don’t get your Sunday envelopes anymore? Would you like to be contacted electronically instead of via mail?
Please contact the rectory at either St. Mary or St. Ursula to make any changes to your records.
If you don’t ever hear from us, you might not be a registered member. Registration is available online!
Memorial Day—Monday, May 31 Mass will be live streamed at 9:00 am. There will be a patriotic display and possibly a speaker. Our normal Memorial Day ceremonies will honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice will return for Memorial Day, 2021.
Festival 2020 The 2020 Festival will be August 24-29, 2020. This will be the first time in the history of the festival where it will be held at the end of the summer instead of the beginning of the summer – maybe it won’t rain! Plans are underway and excitement is in the air! High schoolers, this will provide you with a fun way to fulfill service hours early in the school year.
Flea Market Update
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have no choice but to cancel the St. Mary Flea Market schedule for July. We know this is a disappointment to many of our workers, customers and those of you who have spent the quarantine cleaning out your closets, drawers and basements. In addition, the Flea Market is a large source of income to the Parish which has already had to cancel many other fund raisers.
We are currently exploring the idea of a “virtual” flea market using social media to sell donated items. This will not produce the usual income of the Flea Market as we will only be able to accept items that we can sell on internet sites and not be able to accept some of the smaller items such as plastics, glassware, knick-knacks, linens, mugs or other small items but it will provide some much-needed revenue to St. Mary Parish on an ongoing basis.
Our main issue is we need some place to store the
donations. Do you have a large garage, barn or storage shed you could lend us for a couple of months? We promise to be out of it by next summer
and we will leave it in better shape than we found it! Please call either Theresa Benedek at 412-486-4787 or Kate DiGirolamo at 412-901-8081 if you can help
us. We are excited for the opportunity to offer a virtual St. Mary of the Assumption Flea Market in 2020!
Faith Sharing Seventh Sunday of Easter Jesus prays for you. Find his prayer to his heavenly Father which Saint John records in chapter 17 of his gospel. The text for this Sunday has his reassuring words about those “whom You gave me…I pray for them”. Our baptism sharing in the divine life of the Trinity includes us as “those who” the Father gave to Jesus. Belonging in the original Family is the greatest of gifts !
Confirmation and First Eucharist Families with candidates who have been preparing for the sacraments are patiently waiting for the lifting of the quarantine restrictions on our churches. Pray for the candidates as they eagerly await the coming of Jesus in Eucharist and the strengthening of His Holy Spirit in Confirmation.
Books for Sale The following books are still available at our Faith Formation office “Work, Play Love: How the Mass Changed the Lives of the First Christians”, $8.00 per copy. “The 40,000 Mile Man”, Pilgrim George Walter’s account of his pilgrimages to lift up Jesus, $19.95 per book. Call 412-486-5521 to order.
Did You Know?
BTA How are your children being engaged through their learning during this unprecedented time? At Blessed Trinity Academy, our students are still engaging in rigorous course work 5 days a week. Teachers are using Google Meets, research, presentations, videos and other methods to create a dynamic learning experience for our students so that they are prepared to move on to the next grade level at the end of the school year. BTA is now accepting registrations for the 2020-2021 school year. If you are interested in learning more about BTA and what we can offer your family, call 412-606-6197 or email [email protected] to set up an informational Zoom meeting.
