I AM A

I find marketing and the concept of understanding the needs of the consumer intriguing, as well as the ways and methods the industry attempts to reach them. To me, a clever/creative television commercial is almost as good to watch as the show it interrupts. I am drawn towards general sciences, however I find technology, and the evolution thereof the most interesting; filling my personal life with as much of it as possible.

APRIL 2013 – PRESENT The Creative Counsel (TCC)

Position Held - Client Services Manager

The Creative Counsel continued to make contact with me after leaving and 9 months later I decided to go back to the company, promoted at the Client Service Manager within the team that I had joined just before moving to Gendel.

Here I accept complete responsibility of client campaigns (please see Senior Project Coordinator below for more detail), from receiving the brief, the planning of and delivery of strategic solutions (along side with the necessary internal departments), costings and budgets and the management of a team to deliver the campaign solution to client, meeting (if not exceeding) set annual targets.

JULY 2012 – MARCH 2013 Gendel Advertising & Marketing

Position Held - Account Manager (Africa)

With the desire to get back into agency, I moved from TCC to Gendel, a Strategic Marketing company located in Rosebank. My role was basically Client Services focused on the company’s African clients or portfolios. The biggest challenge working in this environment is the understanding of international trends, preferences and motivations for behavior. I have gained much experience in learning to deal with political clients and the expected ‘respect’ expected from their titles as well as how to effectively deal with problems cross-country.

The single largest growth element this company has brought me is true TTL agency experience, starting from the strategy development and pulling this right through the marketing mix.

SEPTEMBER 2011 – JUNE 2012 The Creative Counsel (TCC)

Position Held - Senior Project Coordinator

As a result of being retrenched from Provantage in July of 2011, I moved to The Creative Counsel, a company active within very similar turf as Provantage.

This position saw me take a step back from direct communications with the clients into Operations, engaging less directly with clients and more with the people that actually make the campaign happen.With a team of 5 under me, we were responsible for the preparations and activating of all the Unilever Laundry Campaigns TCC had won, these included Surf, Comfort, Lifebuoy and OMO Multiactive.

Within these campaigns, it was my responsibility to ensure all members of the team were performing at optimal levels, campaigns were running smoothly and that any problems were solved effective- and efficiently. I was also responsible for weekly feedback reports/debriefs on the campaigns we were running and to send them through to client.

This highly administrative position has given me great experience in:

• Management of diverse people• Logistics• Coordination and negotiations of various interacting groups, for example Finance, Suppliers and employees• Reporting• Target Tracking and,• Budgeting / Cost Management

2010 – JULY 2011 Provantage Media

Position Held - Account Executive

Accommodating my need to branch out further into the marketing environment, the move to Provantage has taught me a lot about lower LSM activations, campaigns and messaging and other effective ways to reach this market.

My responsibilities include:

• Accepting client brief• Proposal development and refinement• Costing and budget formulation• Active Project management• Total Client facing and management

P&G Gillette:I organised and facilitated the in-store activation of in 300 stores and over 4500 promoter shifts over the campaign. Independently verified as by P&G’s auditing company, the campaign achieved a 86.5% rating, at the time the highest score ever given by the company.

An opportunity came for me to work for this Marketing Solutions company based in Bedfordview. I started off as Project Assistant, where my responsibilities included:

• National Stand Management for Mall activations / Road shows

• Arranging and sourcing courts within malls• Sourcing of suppliers and goods• Reporting on services rendered

Within three months I had received my first raise and acquired more responsibilities including communication with clients.

I received my first promotion and a further raise 3 months after that with the title of Project Manager with the following additional tasks:

• Management of Project Assistants beneath me• Management of suppliers• Planning and management of implementation of projects

I received my 3rd raise in July 2008 and continued to grow in the company. Within the two years of my working experience at PenQuin International I have gained extensive experience in both ATL & BTL Campaigns.

Wages, Debtors and Creditors Clerk

Once I had qualified with BComm Honours in Marketing Management, I moved to a large furniture manufacturer that supplies furniture to Weatherly’s and Osiers. My responsibilities included:

• Creditors management• Stock control• Human resources and general administration of employees

• Workmen’s compensation administration• Regular site inspections around Gauteng to ensure brand representation

I took the initiative to develop a digital image and product library/catalogue. I continuously tried to boost the morale of the employees by designing and making gift drops and certificates in recognition of long-term service.

2002 – 2005 Chase Management

Data Analyst & Reporter

Chase Management falls under the FMCG market, supplying ‘movement’ information of products such as soft drinks to suppliers such as Coke. It was my responsibility, using Data-mining software, to provide reports for analysis to clients such as Johnson & Johnson and Coca-Cola. This job provided me with a platform for getting into the corporate environment whilst completing my studies.
