Vitis vinifera (grape vine)•native to the Mediterranean region, central Europe, and southwestern Asia, from Morocco and Portugal north to southernGermany and east to northern Iran.•Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat". (19: Al Mu'minun)•.

•The grape seeds have a group of phytochemical antioxidants, such as Resveratrol which has anti-cancer properties the presence of resveratrol, found in grapes, slows down or stops the growth of benign and malignant tumors

• uses include the leaves being used to stop bleeding, pain and inflammation of hemorrhoids. Unripe grapes were used for treating sore throats, and raisins were given as treatments for consumption (tuberculosis), constipation and thirst. Ripe grapes were used for the treatment of cancer, cholera, smallpox, nausea, skin and eye infections as well as kidney and liver diseases.

•One cup of grapes, with about 100 calories, provides more than a quarter of the daily recommended values of vitamins K and C. Grape seeds, which are edible, are chock-full ofantioxidants.

Grapes come in many colors, including green, red, black, yellow, pink, and purple. "White" grapes are actually green.

Grapes constitute 80% water . But raisins contain 15% water only

The name of the grape appears as Inab and it is narrated eleven times in the Holy Qur’an in different Surash-Verses-Al-Baqara: 266, Al-An’aam: 99, Ar-Ra’d: 4, An-Nahl: 11, 67, Al-Israa: 91, Al-Kahf: 32, Al-Muminoon: 19, Yaseen:34, An-Naba: 32 and Abasa: 28.

"Then, moreover, verily, - you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum. Then you will fill your bellies therewith, and drink boiling water on top of it, so you will drink (that) like thirsty camels! That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense!" [al-Waqi’ah 56:51-56]

The Prophet (pbuh) sates the following about the tree of Zaqqum:“If one drop from the tree of Zaqqum were to fall into the seas of the world, it would turn the life of everybody upside down. What about the state of those who will eat Zaqqum?” (Tirmidhi, Jahannam, 4; Hakim, al-Mustadrak, 2/294)

Ficus carica

Eating one half cup of figs has as much calcium as drinking one-half cup of milk.

An Insulin-Lowering Leaf in Diabetes You probably do not think about the leaves of the fig tree

as one of fig's edible parts. But in some cultures, fig leaves are a common part of the menu, and for good reason. The leaves of the fig have repeatedly been shown to have antidiabetic properties and can actually reduce the amount of insulin needed by persons with diabetes who require insulin injections. In one study, a liquid extract made from fig leaves was simply added to the breakfast of insulin-dependent diabetic subjects in order to produce this insulin-lowering effect.

Barley is different fromwheat mainly in that it will grow with less rain, so you can grow it more different places, and also in that it doesn't taste as good as wheat.

In a 2007 ranking of cereal crops in the world, barley was fourth both in terms of quantity produced (136 million tons) and in area of cultivation (566,000 square kilometres or 219,000 square miles).[

Barley contains antioxidants, which are also im , barley is naturally cholesterol-free and low in

fat. portant for maintaining good health.  Barley is an excellent food choice for those

concerned about type 2 diabetes or pre-diabetes because the grain contains essential vitamins and minerals and is an excellent source of dietary fiber, particularly beta-glucan soluble fiber.  Research shows that barley beta-glucan soluble fiber promotes healthy blood sugar by slowing glucose absorption.

Eating barley has been shown to lower LDL "bad" cholesterol and may help reduce the risk of heart disease.

Lentils are relatively tolerant to drought, and are grown throughout the world.  primarily coming from Canada, India and Turkey.

With 26% of total food content from protein (table), lentils have the third-highest level of protein, by weight, of any legume or nut, after soybeans and hemp.

heart disease, they found that legumes were associated with a whopping 82% reduction in risk!!

Lens culinaris.

And (remember) when you said, "O Musa (Moses)! We cannot endure one kind of food. So invoke your Lord for us to bring forth for us of what the earth grows, its herbs, its cucumbers, its Fum (wheat or garlic), its lentils and its onions." He said, "Would you exchange that which is better for that which is lower? Go you down to any town and you shall find what you want!" And they were covered with humiliation and misery, and they drew on themselves the Wrath of Allah. That was because they used to disbelieve the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah and killed the Prophets wrongfully. That was because they disobeyed and used to transgress the bounds (in their disobedience to Allah, i.e. commit crimes and sins).
