Sandy Skoglund introduced new ideas in creative photography. She used unusual contrasting colors that complimented one another. She set up sets

that would take a long time to build and she would then take the photo. The amount of time

she put into each photo was remarkable, and set a standard for studio artists that remains today.

She would spend months on each set, which shows her devotion to her work.
